Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre said he's OK after being hit in the head with a 92 mph fastball from Boston's Vicente Padilla on Tuesday.
"I got hit pretty good, but I don't think there are any symptoms of a concussion," Beltre told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "It's a bruise but not as bad as it looked.
"It sounded bad when it hit me, but I should be OK. I was trying to stay in the game. The trainer didn't let me."
While Padilla has a reputation of a head-hunter, Beltre said he didn't think it was intentional -- in part because the score was 1-1 in the eighth inning, there was a runner third and Beltre was down 0-2 in the count.

Padilla, who has hit 108 batters in his career, had only hit one batter this season before plunking Beltre. Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira and Padilla have feuded since the two were teammates in Texas because of what Teixeira claims is Padilla's penchant for beaning batters.
