The Mets are unlikely to get Dillon Gee back this season, and the Indians could call up the pitcher formerly known as Fausto Carmona soon.

  • Dillon Gee is unlikely to return to the Mets this season, according to ESPNNewYork.com’s Adam Rubin. Ruben spoke to Gee, who said even if he starts throwing on September 1, it would probably take him two months to get back into game shape. Gee had surgery to repair a damaged artery on July 13. In 109.2 innings pitched for the Mets, Gee had a 4.10 ERA, and a 3.69 FIP.
  • The Indians may call up Roberto Hernandez soon, according to WTAM 1100‘s Nick Camino. Hernandez, formerly known as Fausto Carmona, has yet to pitch for the Indians this year. During the offseason, Hernandez was caught in an identity scandal, and was suspended for three weeks. The team could call him up for the upcoming series against the Angels or the Athletics. The Indians series against the Angels begins August 13, and their series against Oakland begins August 17.
  • The Rockies have received awful pitching this season, but Tyler Chatwood is likely to remain in the rotation, according to the Denver Post’s Troy Renck. After Chatwood’s performance on Friday, Renck believes the team will give him more time in the rotation. Chatwood pitched five innings, giving up three hits and zero runs.
