The Mets will look to acquire a reliever and a right-handed bat at the deadline, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.

  • Since the Mets' attempt to rebuild their bullpen this off-season has been met with mixed results, the team will be looking to add another reliever at the deadline.
  • Frank Francisco is due back from injury soon, but the team will still seek out more depth in order to take some pressure off their current players.
  • The Mets haven't hit lefties well this season, and will also be looking for a right-handed bat.
  • The team is also looking to upgrade at catcher, and already have been linked to Colorado's Ramon Hernandez.
  • With the team's financial situation improved, they may be able to add some payroll at the deadline.
  • The team is hesitant to part with their top prospects, as they are trying to build for the future.
