Mariano Rivera

Finally, Yankees closer and future hall of famer Mariano Rivera has a date set for his knee surgery: Tuesday, June 12, tweets MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

Rivera, of course, tore his right ACL more than a month ago while shagging flies in Kansas City, but clotting problems delayed the surgery to repair the injury. Rivera has previously stated his intention to pitch again, but it's possible that his timetable for recovery will run well into the 2013 season.

In Rivera's absence, the Yankees have primariy used Rafael Soriano as closer. On the season, Soriano has a Rivera-like ERA of 1.89.
