Monday morning, it was revealed that Red Sox starter Josh Beckett is dealing with a thumb injury. So far, all accounts are that it's a minor issue and there's no reason for panic just yet.

Still, Beckett's first scheduled start of the 2012 season is just four days away. And he's now flying to Cleveland to get a third opinion on his thumb (WEEI.com). The meeting is just for Beckett's "peace of mind," but that's what we heard Monday, before Beckett got a second opinion in San Antonio.

This comes less than a day after a report indicated new closer Andrew Bailey will need surgery on his thumb. Bailey is also in Cleveland seeking another opinion, just like Beckett.

Alfredo Aceves will get the start in Boston's second game of the season if Beckett can't go, but as things currently stand, Beckett is still listed as the starter against the Tigers on Saturday.
