The Blue Jays have signed Mark DeRosa to a one-year, $750,000 contract, the team announced. The deal has a club option for the 2014 season.

The 37-year-old DeRosa is a 15-year veteran. He spent last season with the Nationals, hitting .188/.300/.247 in 101 plate appearances. He dealt with multiple injuries, which kept him on the disabled list most of the season.

DeRosa spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Braves, before moving among six other teams since 2005. He won a World Series ring with the Giants in 2010.
