The Giants played the Mets twice Monday and Aubrey Huff was nowhere to be found in either game. That's because he apparently had something very important pop up. He sent manager Bruce Bochy a text message early Monday morning saying he had to "attend to an urgent family matter," per CSN Bay Area.

“Evidently something very, very important happened with his family -- an emergency,” Bochy said (CSN Bay Area). “He had to go back for personal reasons, personal issues.”

The story also notes that Bochy said Huff was "apologetic" and that Huff hopes to meet up with the Giants in Cincinnati, where they open a series Tuesday.

Huff, 35, is hitting .182/.300/.333 so far this season and is a polarizing player to discuss with many Giants fans due to his eight-figure salary and the fact that he's blocking young Brandon Belt from more playing time.
