So this seems right in line with how the Brewers' fortunes have gone this season. They completed a four-game sweep of the Dodgers Thursday night, then got stomped, 8-2, by the Pirates Friday. And now Aramis Ramirez has had to leave Saturday's game with a left quadriceps strain, according to the club. He will be evaluated Sunday.

Ramirez, 33, got off to a slow start this season -- his first with Milwaukee -- but has picked things up of late. He was hitting .355/.429/.645 with two homers, three doubles, eight RBI and eight runs in his past eight games heading into Saturday. And then Saturday he was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs before his exit.

Worse yet, Ryan Braun has now missed two of the past three games with nagging injuries. If Braun and Ramirez both miss the same game, that represents a crater-like hole in the middle of the Brewers' lineup, unless Rickie Weeks is going to get really hot.
