The PGA Tour's best will be back in action this week at the 2023 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Scottie Scheffler never left, posting his 14th straight top-12 finish with a tie for third at last week's Charles Schwab Challenge. He will be part of a 2023 Memorial Tournament field teeing off Thursday that features 10 of the world's top 15 golfers. Scheffler is No. 1, and the rest of the top five – Jon Rahm, Rory Mcilroy, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele – all took last week off following the PGA Championship. Rahm won the Memorial in 2020, and Cantlay is a two-time champion (2019, 2021). Scheffler tied for third in 2021 before skipping ii last year.

Those three are the favorites in the latest 2023 Memorial Tournament odds from Caesars Sportsbook, with Scheffler the 6-1 top choice. Rahm is right behind at 7-1, and Cantlay is priced at 10-1. The other favorites in the 2023 Memorial Tournament field are McIlroy (12-1), Schauffele (14-1), Viktor Hovland (20-1) and Collin Morikawa (22-1). Defending champion Billy Horschel, who shot 13-under to win by four strokes last year, is a 125-1 longshot. Before making any 2023 Memorial Tournament picks, be sure you check out the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from SportsLine golf insider Sia Nejad.

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and betting head-to-head matchups. At the Wells Fargo, he had Wyndham Clark among his longshot outrights, backing the 75-1 shot before he dominated at Quail Hollow for his first PGA Tour victory.

In 2022, Nejad hit six first-round leaders in a 12-week span while peppering in tournament outrights throughout the year. In 2023, Sportsline debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two FRLs and three outright winners. Nejad also had a winning head-to-head record in eight of 10 weeks (including full tournament sweeps on head-to-head plays). He was up more than 70 units over that three-month span.

Now, Nejad has studied the 2023 Memorial Tournament field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. You can head to SportsLine now to see all of Nejad's PGA picks and analysis.

Top 2023 Memorial Tournament expert picks

In a stunning move, Nejad is fading McIlroy, the No. 3 golfer in the world and a four-time major champion. McIlroy has a victory this season, but it came in October in his first outing of 2022-23. He has mostly struggled since returning from Europe in February. The Northern Irishman has two missed cuts, two top-10 finishes and three outside the top 25 in seven stroke-play events since then. Muirfield requires strong all-around play, and McIlroy's has been anything but. He hasn't cracked the top 15 in his last four appearances.

On the other hand, Tyrrell Hatton has been firing on all cylinders, and Nejad loves the value on him at 35-1. "He simply checks all the boxes," Nejad says of the Englishman, who has four straight top-20 finishes. The 31-year-old ranks third in strokes gained total and 17th in strokes gained putting, helping him rank fifth in scoring average (69.46). Hatton has just one tour victory but has six on the European tour. Nejad believes it's a matter of time before he wins again. "I think he has a shot to win the Memorial," the expert says. See who else he is backing at SportsLine.
