Jordan Spieth will try to continue his success at Colonial, but fellow Texan Scottie Scheffler also has plenty of motivation for this week's 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge. Spieth, a Dallas native, has eight top-10 finishes in 10 outings on the Fort Worth course, including a 2016 victory. Scheffler, who was raised in Dallas, was a runner-up at last week's PGA Championship and at the Charles Schwab Challenge last year. They are part of a Charles Schwab Challenge 2023 field that also features Viktor Hovland, Max Homa, Tony Finau and defending champion Sam Burns. With such a strong field, which golfers should you be targeting for your 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge fantasy golf picks?

Scheffler is the clear 4-1 favorite, followed by Spieth (12-1), Finau (14-1) and Hovland (14-1), in Caesars Sportsbook's 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge odds. Scheffler has finished in the top 12 of every tournament he has played since last October, but is the world's No. 1 player worth the price to anchor your 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge fantasy golf picks? Before setting your fantasy golf rankings or making any 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge picks, you need to see the fantasy golf projections and lineup advice from SportsLine fantasy expert Jim Holliman.

playing and following the game closely for more than three decades. The Florida-based writer knows what it takes to win on the PGA Tour and how the players' games fit the courses. Holliman was on fire on his picks for last week's PGA Championship. The top three finishers at Oak Hill were all among his top five picks. He also knew Jon Rahm "could end up in trouble at times" with his wayward drives before the world No. 1 finished T-50. As for winner Brooks Koepka, Holliman said "he can beat anyone when stakes are high." He certainly proved that when he won by two strokes for his fifth major victory.

Holliman has been on a roll all season. He was all over Jason Day (+1800) as a top contender at the Byron Nelson before the Australian's first victory in more than five years. He also nailed Tony Finau (+850) as his top choice at the Mexico Open, and longshot play Eric Cole (+10000) posted a top-five finish. The expert also had Rahm (+750) No. 1 before his Masters victory and backed Scheffler (+1000) to win the Players Championship. Anyone who has followed Holliman's predictions is way up on their golf picks.

Now, Holliman has ranked his top golfers from the 2023 Charles Schwab Challenge field. You can only see his fantasy golf rankings and Charles Schwab Challenge picks at SportsLine.

Holliman knows Morikawa is having a down year, but the expert is backing the 26-year-old this week at Colonial. The California native has struggled with his putter throughout his career, but he showed in 2020 that he can sink putts at Colonial. Morikawa was the runner-up at that year's Charles Schwab Challenge, and his precision in every part of his game makes him a good fit for the course. He leads the tour in strokes gained approach, ranks seventh in greens in regulation and sixth in driving accuracy. Morikawa also ranks 18th in scoring average (70.002) this season.

On the other hand, Holliman doesn't think Burns has the well-rounded game to succeed again at Colonial and is strongly fading him. The defending champ saw everything go right for him last year, as most of the field battled fierce winds late in the day. The victory was his first top-25 finish in three tries on the course, which typically rewards better iron play. Burns ranks fourth on tour in strokes gained putting, but is 165th in greens in regulation and 190th in proximity to the hole. Burns also comes in off a terrible performance at the PGA Championship, where he finished 14-over par. You can see who else to back this week at SportsLine
