  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Picks up win Thursday

Daccord made 21 saves in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Wild. Most of the scoring came in the third period, as Daccord and Marc-Andre Fleury battled to a 1-1 tie through the first 40 minutes. Daccord ceded the starting role for the Kraken back to Philipp Grubauer after the All-Star break, but the 27-year-old netminder still put together a strong first full NHL campaign, posting a 19-18-11 record with a 2.46 GAA and .916 save percentage. Grubauer still has three years left on his contract with a $5.9 million AAV, but the younger and cheaper Daccord could push for the No. 1 job in camp next season.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Allows three in loss

Daccord stopped 24 of 27 St. Louis shots during Sunday's 4-1 loss. The 27-year-old netminder has lost three consecutive games down the stretch. Daccord came into 2023-24 with just 19 NHL appearances (15 starts), so he has blown his previous usage out of the water with 49 appearances (45 starts) while performing admirably with a 2.45 GAA and .916 save percentage. He has three shutouts among his 18 wins and should get a chance to add to those totals in one the Kraken's last two games of the season. Daccord will likely challenge for the starting job in Seattle next year.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Gives up three goals in loss

Daccord stopped 20 of 23 shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Sharks. Although the Kraken tilted the ice toward the Sharks' zone, Devin Cooley was sharp, stopping 49 of their 50 shots on goal. This was Daccord's first start in April, but he has just two wins over nine outings since the beginning of March. He's now at 18-17-11 with a 2.43 GAA and a .917 save percentage through 48 appearances this season. The Kraken have a back-to-back in Dallas on Saturday and in St. Louis on Sunday, so Philipp Grubauer and Daccord should split the next two games.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Falls short Friday

Daccord gave up two goals on 26 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Coyotes. Daccord came within 1:08 of a shutout, and he was then 48 seconds short of guiding the game to a shootout. Daccord is down to 17-15-11 with a 2.50 GAA and a .917 save percentage over 44 appearances this season. The Kraken have alternated goalies during their seven-game skid, so it wouldn't be surprising for Philipp Grubauer to start Sunday versus the Canadiens.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Done in by two blunders

Daccord stopped 21 of 23 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Capitals. Daccord was sunk by two mistakes. The first was of his own doing, as his clearing attempt hit off T.J. Oshie and went into the net. The second goal was a product of Andre Burakovsky's turnover leading to a Connor McMichael breakaway. Daccord lost four of his last five outings, giving up 14 goals in that span. He's now at 17-14-10 with a 2.45 GAA and a .919 save percentage. The Kraken's playoff hopes are quickly fading, but the strong play of Philipp Grubauer recently will likely leave Daccord in a backup or timeshare role.
