Jones will not return Sunday against the Rams due to a hamstring injury. • Seahawks' Josh Jones: Will play Sunday

Jones (illness) has been ruled active ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams. Jones was deemed questionable Friday after coming down with an illness that made the rounds in Seattle's locker room Week 13. Nevertheless, he'll still suit up for this divisional matchup. Jones has primarily played on special teams over the Seahawks' last two games, and he'll likely slot into a reserve role at safety Sunday.

  • Colts' Josh Jones: Joins active roster

The Colts signed Jones to their active roster Monday. The Colts currently have T.J. Carrie (undisclosed) and Julian Blackmon (Achilles) on injured reserve, and Khari Willis (calf) exited the Week 8 loss to the Titans early, so they will add Jones to their active roster to add depth to their secondary. If Willis is unable to suit up in Week 9, George Odum will likely draw the start with Andrew Sendejo, as Jones operates as the primary backup.

Jones signed a one-year contract with the Jaguars on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Jones recorded a career high in tackles with the Jaguars in his 2020 campaign (83 tackles), good for third overall on the team. • Jaguars' Josh Jones: Starts 13 games

Jones had one solo tackle Week 17 against the Colts and had 83 tackles (59 solo) and one interception in 13 games this season. The 26-year-old failed to establish himself with the Packers and Cowboys over the first three years of his career, but he started 13 games for the Jags in 2020 and ranked third on the team with 83 tackles. He also struggled in coverage and allowed 33 of 38 passes to be completed for a 138.9 QB rating. Jones is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and is unlikely to receive interest for a starting job on any contending teams.

  • Jaguars' Josh Jones: Ready to roll

Jones (leg) wasn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Jones suffered a leg contusion late in Sunday's win over the Colts and didn't return, but the 26-year-old is again healthy and ready to assume his usual role as the team's starting safety. Jones could be a solid IDP option heading into Week 2 as, prior to his exit last week, he led the team with 12 tackles.

  • Jaguars' Josh Jones: Could be in line for starting role

Jones has impressed in camp and could be in line for a starting role this season, Mark Long of AP.org reports. There is speculation that the Jaguars could be parting ways with fellow safety Ronnie Harrison as they continue to clean house before Week 1, which would more than likely leave Jones with starting responsibilities. The 25-year-old has spent time with the Packers and Cowboys through his first three seasons in the league.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Dealing with minor injury

Jones didn't play in Thursday night's preseason game against the Texans due to an unspecified minor injury, Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The location of Jones' injury is unknown, but the Packers aren't concerned about him missing any regular-season action at this point. They likely exercised caution by holding him out of the preseason opener.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Will show for training camp

Jones (hamstring) said Wednesday that he will be present for training camp when it opens Thursday, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports. Jones informed the Packers in late May that he would skip OTAs and request a trade from the team, but has apparently changed his tune. He's also dealing with a hamstring injury, so he may be looking for medical attention from team doctors. As evidenced by this news, it should be considered a solid bet that Jones will be on the Packers' roster when the regular season starts.

Jones did not participate in minicamp Tuesday due to a hamstring injury, Michael Cohen of The Athletic reports. Jones requested a trade from the Packers while skipping OTAs a few weeks ago, but now his absence is apparently due to a legitimate injury. The severity is unclear, but it appears Green Bay is not in any rush to deal Jones regardless.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Playing time increases

Jones had six tackles (four solo) in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Jones was on the field for just four defensive snaps all season prior to Week 9, but he saw a major boost in activity due to the trade of Ha Ha Clinton-Dix during the week, the ejection of fellow safety Jermaine Whitehead in the first half of Sunday's contest, and the knee injury suffered by another safety, Kentrell Brice.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Active Week 4

Jones (ankle) is listed as active Sunday against the Bills. Jones was limited in practice all week but will suit up nonetheless to provide Green Bay with depth in their ailing secondary. • Packers' Josh Jones: Deemed questionable for Sunday

Jones (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Redskins, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Jones got on the practice field for the first time this season, although he remained limited. The second-year pro played a starter's snap count last season, but his usage may be capped in his season debut.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Plays in second preseason contest

Jones (head) assisted in one special teams tackle in Thursday's preseason game against the Steelers. Jones suffered a head injury during the preseason opener last week, but he thankfully avoided a concussion. While the 23-year-old didn't accumulate much in the way of stats Thursday, he still played 25 defensive snaps as he looks to lock down the starting job at strong safety.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Taking over as starting safety

Jones is expected to serve as the Packers' starting strong safety during the upcoming season, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. With incumbent starter Morgan Burnett reaching a deal with the Steelers, Jones, a 2017 second-round pick shouldn't face much serious competition for the opening left behind. The move to the starting lineup shouldn't be a huge transition for Jones, who saw plenty of playing time as a rookie, ultimately logging the second-most snaps among Green Bay safeties in 2017 due to Burnett's health woes. There's still room for Jones' playing time to expand, however, as Burnett had logged 948 snaps in 2016, which is quite a jump from the 735 snaps Jones logged this past season. Barring an injury of his own, the 2017 second-rounder seems poised to build upon his inaugural stat line of 71 tackles, two sacks, five pass breakups and one interception.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Injures shoulder Saturday

Jones is questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Vikings with a shoulder injury. The rookie second-round pick has often played near-full workloads this season as the Packers battled injuries in their secondary. He's showed well at times, too, compiling 62 tackles and two sacks through 14 games. In his place, Jermaine Whitehead will slot in at safety while CB Lenzy Pipkins would be expected to rotate into dime packages.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Posts eight-tackle performance

Jones had eight tackles (five solo) against the Lions on Monday. Racking up eight tackles makes Monday's performance Jones' second best of the season. The rookie second-round pick played all 68 defensive snaps Monday because Morgan Burnett (groin) was sitting out, and Burnett won't play against the Bears in Week 10, so similar production should be expected from Jones.

  • Packers' Josh Jones: Aces first test as a pro

Jones had 12 tackles (11 solo) and two sacks in Sunday's 27-24 overtime victory over the Bengals. Jones saw extended playing time for the first time as a professional, and he passed the test with flying colors, leading the Packers in tackles and making plays in all areas of the field. Sunday's effort likely earned him a boost in snaps moving forward, and depending how many he sees, he could have some value in leagues that use IDPs thanks to his ability to make plays from a defensive back position.
