  • Bengals' Mike Gesicki: Joining Cincinnati TE corps

Gesicki is in line to sign a one-year deal with the Bengals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Per Schefter, Gesicki's pending deal is worth up to $3.25 million. The 28-year-old is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he caught 29 of his 45 targets for 244 yards and a pair of TDs in 17 regular-season games, while working in a New England TE corps that also included Hunter Henry and Pharaoh Brown. With Cincinnati, it's plausible that Gesicki (who caught 73 passes with Miami in 2021) could see an uptick in targets if he's able to earn steady snaps and develop a strong rapport with QB Joe Burrow (wrist).

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Catches 29 passes this season

Gesicki finished the 2023 season with 29 catches on 45 targets for 244 yards and two TDs in 17 games. Gesicki was brought in by the Patriots this past March on a one-year deal to pair with fellow tight end Hunter Henry, essentially replacing Jonnu Smith, who the team had traded to the Falcons. At the time, it seemed as though Gesicki would have a chance to bounce back as a pass-catcher following a subpar 2022 campaign with the Dolphins. However, while working in a time-share that tilted in Henry's favor and as part of a passing attack that struggled to find consistency, Gesicki's fantasy impact was modest. Following a 4-13 effort, the Patriots figure to make plenty of changes this offseason, and it remains to be seen whether the team will look to re-sign Gesicki in the coming months.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Team-high four grabs Sunday

Gesicki caught four of six targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 27-21 loss to the Bills. The catches and targets both led the Patriots, although the tight end wasn't able to do much with the volume. With Hunter Henry (wrist) sidelined the last two games, Gesicki has produced a modest 6-50-1 line on eight targets, so even if Henry misses New England's season finale in Week 18 against the Jets, Gesicki's fantasy value will be minimal.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Likely to fill in for Henry

Gesicki is expected to serve as the Patriots' top tight end Sunday in Buffalo with Hunter Henry (knee) inactive for the contest, Chris Brown of the Bills Radio Network reports. While Henry was sidelined for last Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Broncos, Gesicki played two-thirds of New England's snaps on offense and finished with two catches for 15 yards and a touchdown on two targets. Gesicki should remain the top tight end once again Week 17 while Pharaoh Brown serves as the No. 2 option, but neither profiles as a reliable fantasy option within the context of a weak New England passing attack.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Notches TD in Sunday's win

Gesicki, who was on the field for 38 of 58 snaps on offense in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Broncos, caught both of his targets for 15 yards and a touchdown. With Hunter Henry (knee) sidelined Sunday, Gesicki and Pharaoh Brown (27 snaps, two catches for 25 yards) handled the bulk of the Patriots' TE reps. Gesicki's TD salvaged what would have otherwise been a quiet fantasy effort, and looking ahead to a Week 17 game against the Bills, he profiles as a risky lineup option even if Henry remains out.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: One catch Sunday

Gesicki, who was on the field for 21 of a possible 53 snaps on offense, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, caught one of his two targets for seven yards in Sunday's 27-17 loss to Kansas City. Gesicki's modest production continued Week 15, but it's possible that he and Pharaoh Brown could see added opportunities this coming weekend against the Broncos if a knee issue causes fellow TE Hunter Henry to miss time. In the event that Henry, who caught seven passes for 66 yards and a TD versus the Chiefs, is unavailable Week 16, Gesicki's role in New England's passing attack would likely increase, but he'd still profile as a fantasy dart, even in that context.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: No targets in Week 14

Gesicki was on the field for 19 of a possible 57 snaps on offense in Thursday's 21-18 win over the Steelers, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Gesicki has back-to-back games without a target and three in a row without any catches. He's been playing fewer snaps than both Hunter Henry and Pharaoh Brown, with any hope for fantasy relevance down the stretch likely depending on Henry missing time. Henry played 88 percent of snaps and caught two touchdown passes Thursday night, so he should be fine to handle his usual starting role Week 15 against Kansas City.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Limited snaps Sunday

Gesicki logged seven of a possible 64 snaps on offense in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Chargers, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Gesicki, who was out-snapped in the contest by fellow TEs Hunter Henry (47 snaps) and Pharaoh Brown (32 snaps), did not record a target Sunday. Following back-to-back zero-catch efforts, Gesicki is not a reliable fantasy lineup option as Thursday night's game against the Steelers approaches.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Logs two targets Sunday

Gesicki did not record a catch on two targets during Sunday's 10-7 loss to the Giants. In a game in which no New England tight end caught a pass, Gesicki was on the field for 18 of a possible 68 snaps on offense Sunday, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. As this coming weekend's game against the Chargers approaches, Gesicki profiles as a fantasy dart in Week 13.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Two catches versus Colts

Gesicki was on the field for 46 of a possible 69 snaps in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Colts, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Gesicki -- who caught two of his three targets in the contest for 22 yards -- continues to work in a TE timeshare with Hunter Henry (50 snaps) and Pharaoh Brown (33 snaps), a context that limits his fantasy utility to deeper formats. Through his first 10 games with the Patriots, Gesicki is averaging 2.1 catches on three targets for 18.2 yards per game.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Held without a catch Sunday

Gesicki logged 55 of a possible 64 snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Commanders, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Though Gesicki saw plenty of snaps Sunday, he didn't record a catch on one target, while fellow TE Hunter Henry (56 snaps) caught four of seven targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in the contest. While working in a timeshare, Gesicki remains a hit-or-miss fantasy option as this weekend's game against the Colts approaches.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Two catches Sunday

Gesicki was on the field for 15 of a possible 53 snaps on offense in Sunday's 31-17 loss to the Dolphins while catching two of his three targets for 11 yards in the contest, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Gesicki was out-snapped Sunday by both Hunter Henry (31 snaps, three catches) and Pharaoh Brown (21 snaps, two catches), as the Patriots' timeshare at tight end continues. With 19 catches (on 25 targets) for 160 yards and a TD in eight games to date, Gesicki only merits lineup consideration in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Catches game-winning TD

Gesicki, who logged 30 of a possible 60 snaps on offense in Sunday's 29-25 win over the Bills, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, caught both of his targets for five yards and a TD in the contest. Gesicki shared Week 7 TE work with Hunter Henry (30 snaps, two catches) and Pharaoh Brown (23 snaps, two catches), but his second catch of the day (with just 12 seconds left on the clock) was a one-yard game-winning TD. Through seven games to date, Gesicki has caught 17 of his 22 targets for 149 yards and a TD, a rate of production that limits his fantasy value to deeper formats.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Three catches in Week 6

Gesicki caught all three of his targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 21-17 loss to the Raiders. While the Patriots were without wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) and Demario Douglas (concussion), Gesicki saw an expanded role in the New England passing attack. He played 36 of the team's 60 snaps on offense, more than doubling up his snap total (17) from the Patriots' Week 5 loss to the Saints. As long as Smith-Schuster and Douglas are able to return in short order and as long as top tight end Hunter Henry remains healthy, Gesicki's fantasy upside will remain modest. Through six games to date, Gesicki has combined for 15 catches (on 20 targets) for 144 yards, while Henry has recorded an 18-183-2 receiving line in that same span.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Catches two passes in Week 5

Gesicki logged 16 of a possible 54 snaps on offense while catching two of his four targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 34-0 loss to the Saints, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Meanwhile, Hunter Henry was on the field for 42 snaps but didn't catch either of his two targets in the contest. As this coming weekend's game against the Raiders approaches, neither of the Patriots TEs are high-percentage fantasy options while working in an offense that has scored just three points over the last two weeks.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: One catch in Week 4

Gesicki, who was on the field for 33 of a possible 55 snaps on offense in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Cowboys, caught one of his three targets in the contest for 12 yards, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Fellow TE Hunter Henry logged 44 snaps in the game, while catching four of his five targets for 51 yards. Through his first four outings with New England, Gesicki has caught 10 of his 13 targets for 99 yards, and in the wake off back-to-back one-catch efforts, he's a speculative fantasy option Week 5 versus New Orleans.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Logs one catch versus Jets

Gesicki caught his only target in Sunday's 15-10 win over the Jets for 18 yards. Gesicki logged 34 of a possible 72 snaps on offense Sunday, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, while Hunter Henry recorded 68 snaps and two catches and Pharaoh Brown parlayed his 25 snaps into a 2-71-1 receiving line. After combining for nine catches (on 10 targets) for 87 yards through his first three outings with the Patriots, Gesicki remains a hit-or-miss fantasy option due to the team's TE timeshare.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Fives catches versus former team

Gesicki, who was on the field for 53 of a possible 74 snaps on offense in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Dolphins, caught five of his six targets for 33 yards in the contest, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. The Patriots found a way to keep both of their tight ends involved Sunday, with Hunter Henry logging 68 snaps while catching six of his seven targets for 52 yards and a TD. However, as long as a TE timeshare remains the norm for the team, Gesicki's bankable fantasy ceiling will be be capped. Next up for New England is a Week 3 matchup with the 1-1 Jets.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Three catches in Week 1

Gesicki, who was on the field for 33 of a possible 80 snaps on offense in Sunday's season-opening 25-20 loss to the Eagles, caught all three of his targets for 36 yards in his regular-season debut with the Patriots, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Meanwhile, fellow TE Hunter Henry logged 63 snaps while catching five of his six targets for 56 yards and a TD. As the season progresses, there figures to be weeks where Gesicki sees more targets, but as long as Henry is available, the former looks like a hit-or-miss fantasy lineup option.

  • Patriots' Mike Gesicki: Not on injury report

Gesicki (shoulder) wasn't listed Wednesday on the Patriots' Week 1 injury report. Gesicki suffered a mild shoulder dislocation in mid-August, but he's good to go as Sunday's season opener against the Eagles approaches. In his first season in New England, Gesicki is expected to share snaps and targets at tight end with Hunter Henry, and the Patriots are likely to feature a fair amount of two-tight end sets that will allow both players to share the field. The potential for a timeshare could result in Gesicki's weekly target volume fluctuating, but he could carve out fantasy utility in 2023 nonetheless, given his pass-catching prowess.
