  • Eagles' Parris Campbell: Gets one-year deal in Philly

Campbell and the Eagles agreed to terms on a one-year contract Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Campbell, a 2019 second-round pick, is coming off a disappointing one-and-done season with the Giants. Across 12 regular-season games in 2023, he secured 20 of 27 targets for just 104 yards, while adding 191 yards as a kick returner. He was more productive with the Colts in 2022, with a 63-623-3 receiving line across 17 contests. Campbell now gets a chance to compete for depth work behind A.J. Brown (knee), DeVonta Smith and DeVante Parker.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Flops in first campaign with Giants

Campbell played in 12 games during the 2023 season, finishing with 20 receptions (on 27 targets) for 104 yards. He added 191 yards as a kick returner. After spending the first four years of his career with Indianapolis, Campbell joined the Giants last offseason with the potential to rise to a prominent role in an unsettled wide-receiver corps. That never materialized, however, and after Week 2 he didn't log more than half of New York's offensive snaps in any contest. Campbell's production fell off so much that he was a healthy scratch for each of the team's final four games after sitting out Week 14 due to a knee injury. The 2019 second-round draft pick is set to become an unrestricted free agent, and with head coach Brian Daboll clearly preferring to deploy other pass-catching options, it would be a significant surprise if Campbell sees a second season in New York.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Won't play Sunday

Campbell (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Campbell will finish the 2023 season as a healthy scratch for the fourth consecutive game. He finishes the year with 20 catches on 27 targets for 104 yards, in addition to 191 kick return yards, over 12 games.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Remains healthy scratch

Campbell (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. This marks the third straight game that Campbell will be a healthy scratch with Sterling Shepard remaining ahead of him on the depth chart. Campbell will have one final chance to suit up in Week 18 against the Eagles, though that looks unlikely if the rest of the receiving corps remains healthy.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Takes seat Monday

Campbell (coach's decision) is inactive Monday against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Campbell will be a healthy scratch for the second consecutive week, as Sterling Shepard has secured the No. 5 spot on the team's receiver depth chart, and Gunner Olszewski has taken over return duties. The Ohio State product will have another chance to crack the active roster on gameday in Week 17 against the Rams.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Surprise inactive

Campbell (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Campbell missed the Giants' Week 14 victory with a knee injury, but he practiced in full throughout the week leading up to Sunday's matchup against the Saints. That suggests he's slipped down the wide receiver depth chart, though his inactive status is still a surprise given that he's contributed on special teams across the last seven games.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Labeled full practice participant

The Giants estimated Campbell (knee) as a full participant Wednesday on the team's initial Week 15 injury report. Following Monday's 24-22 win over the Packers, the Giants opened Week 15 prep with a walkthrough, but Campbell would have taken full reps had the team opted for a traditional practice session. Campbell thus looks as though he'll be ready to play Sunday in New Orleans after sitting out the Week 14 game, but he may return to only a minor role in the Giants' passing attack. In his last appearance prior to the Giants' Week 13 bye, Campbell logged just six snaps on offense in a 10-7 win over the Patriots on Nov. 26.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Not playing Monday

Campbell (knee) is inactive for the Giants' matchup versus the Packers on Monday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports. Campbell was a late addition to New York's injury report but now will miss his first game of the season due to a knee injury. With the 26-year-old out, Gunner Olszewski likely will fill in as the team's returner.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Added to injury report

Campbell (knee) was added to the injury report Saturday and is listed as questionable for Monday's contest against the Packers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Despite receiving a lucrative contract this past offseason, Campbell has been essentially demoted to return duties, as the veteran has played just 54 offensive snaps total dating back to Week 6. If the speedy wideout, who wasn't listed on the injury report prior to Saturday, is unable to play, Gunner Olszewski could step into the top returner role.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Suiting up in Week 10

Campbell (hamstring) is active for Sunday's Week 10 game against the Cowboys, Art Stapleton of TheRecordSports.com reports. Campbell will therefore be available to handle his usual reserve receiver duties and primary kickoff returner role. The veteran offseason addition has 18 receptions for 100 yards and 155 kick return yards through nine games this season.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Listed as questionable

Campbell (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Dallas, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Campbell has been active for every game for a second straight season but has played just 21 total snaps on offense the past four weeks. His primary role at this point is on kickoff turns, with Gunner Olszewski the top candidate to fill in this Sunday if Campbell misses a game for the first time since 2021.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Limited again Thursday

Campbell (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. As he was at Wednesday's session, Campbell operated with a cap on his on-field work due to a hamstring issue. He thus has just one more chance to prove his health before the Giants potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's game at Dallas.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Quiet again in Week 5 loss

Campbell caught both of his targets for 23 yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. The former Colt actually finished with the second-most yards among New York's receivers behind Darius Slayton's 35. That speaks volumes about the state of the team's passing game, as Daniel Jones (neck) has struggled mightily behind an overmatched offensive line. Campbell made one big play with a 17-yard gain, but it came in the fourth quarter with the game mostly out of reach after Jones had exited with a neck injury. Campbell has yet to record more than 24 yards in any of his five contests so far this season, giving him very little fantasy appeal. The only pass catcher on the team that has shown any fantasy viability outside of deep leagues is tight end Darren Waller.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Secures three catches Monday

Campbell hauled in three of five targets for 15 yards Monday in a 24-3 loss to Seattle. The Giants put up another dismal passing performance, with quarterback Daniel Jones posting just 203 yards and no touchdowns through the air while taking 11 sacks. As such, no New York wideout had more than five catches or 40 receiving yards, making Campbell's poor line pretty much the norm among the team's wideout corps. The speedy receiver did tie for second on the club in targets behind Wan'Dale Robinson (six), and Campbell has at least shown some consistency with between four and six targets in each of his four games thus far. No Giants receiver has stood out during the team's poor start to the campaign, so there's a chance that one breakout performance by a pass catcher on the club could shake up the depth chart. For the time being, though, neither Campbell nor any of New York's receivers are particularly appealing fantasy options.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Targeted six times Week 2

Campbell caught four of six targets for 21 yards in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Cardinals. After nabbing just one of four targets in a season-opening loss to Dallas, Campbell was more efficient and productive against Arizona, though his longest reception went for just nine yards. The speedy wideout finished tied for third on the team in catches but was sixth in receiving yards in a game during which QB Daniel Jones racked up 321 yards through the air. New York doesn't yet have a clear wide-receiver pecking order, making it difficult to predict how much volume Campbell -- or any of the team's wideouts -- will receive in any given week.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Records three catches Friday

Campbell caught all three of his targets for 23 yards in Friday's exhibition win against Carolina. After sitting out New York's preseason opener, Campbell worked with the starters in Friday's win. His longest gain was a 13-yarder in the middle of the field. Campbell appears to be in line to begin as the Giants' WR3 this season, though rookie Jalin Hyatt -- who caught a touchdown pass Friday -- is among a host of pass catchers in a crowded receiver room who could cut into Campbell's snap share.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Back at practice

Campbell (knee) will return to practice Friday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Campbell missed just one day of practice due to tendinitis in his knee. Prior to that, he was staying busy at Giants training camp, with multiple beat writers reporting that Campbell and TE Darren Waller were drawing the most targets from QB Daniel Jones during practices. The former Colt thus appears on track for a top-three spot at WR to open the season, though it could be a fairly fluid position for the Giants throughout the year given that they have quantity more so than quality at the position.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Dealing with knee tendinitis

Campbell was held out of Thursday's practice due to knee tendinitis, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports. Campbell played only 15 games over his first three seasons with the Colts before finally staying healthy last year and playing all 17 games en route to a 63-623-3 receiving line. He then signed a one-year contract with the Giants in March, and by all accounts he'd been busy at training camp prior to Thursday, with multiple beat writers reporting that Campbell and TE Darren Waller had seen the most targets from QB Daniel Jones at training camp. Campbell's injury history still lingers as a relevant factor, but the current issue doesn't sound serious and he thus appears well on his way to a top-three spot on the depth chart to start the season. The Giants have a bunch of wide receivers in the mix for roles, including rookie Jalin Hyatt and ACL recoverees Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson, but Duggan projects the Giants will start the season with a veteran trio of Campbell, Isaiah Hodgins and Darius Slayton as the primary WR grouping in 11 personnel.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Staying busy at spring practices

Campbell was frequently targeted by QB Daniel Jones during spring practices and also got some reps as a running back in individual drills and walk-throughs, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Duggan counted 15 receptions from Jones to Campbell during open practices this spring, four more than any other wide receiver had with the Giants' starting quarterback. Campbell's work in the backfield is also somewhat interesting in light of the Giants' shaky RB depth behind Saquon Barkley, who hasn't signed his franchise tag and has until July 17 to negotiate a long-term contract. Campbell took only 11 carries for 108 yards in 32 games for Indianapolis the past four seasons, but he's at least athletic enough to be more active in that regard, considering he ran a 4.31 40-yard dash at 205 pounds prior to the Colts drafting him 59th overall in 2019. A slew of injuries limited Campbell to 15 games over his first three seasons, and he finally stayed healthy last year but was part of one of the worst passing attacks in the NFL. The Giants signed him to a one-year, $4.7 million contract in March and seemingly want to be more creative with how Campbell is deployed rather than limiting him to short passes out of the slot.

  • Giants' Parris Campbell: Links up with Daboll in NYC

Campbell is signing with the Giants, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. A 2019 second-round pick with 4.31 speed, Campbell primarily worked the slot in Indianapolis, where the first three years of his career were defined by a long list of injuries. He then played 17 games last season, more than in his first three years combined, but nonetheless finished with a modest receiving line of 63-623-3 on 91 targets. Campbell turns 26 in July and should benefit from coaching and QB upgrades relative to what he dealt with in Indianapolis, though his role remains to be seen and could partially depend on how Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard fare in their respective recoveries from ACL tears. Isaiah Hodgins is the only healthy receiver under contract with New York at the start of the league year who had a significant role in Brian Daboll's offense last season.
