Sexton (illness) won't play in Sunday's regular-season finale versus Golden State. Sexton will end the 2023-24 campaign with four consecutive absences due to an illness. Jazz's Collin Sexton: Questionable for Sunday
Sexton (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Warriors. Sexton missed the past three games for Utah, but the guard remains day-to-day. Given the amount of injuries the Jazz have, Sexton could have a featured role if he gets the green light.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Won't play Friday
Sexton (illness) will not play Friday against the Clippers. No surprise here, as the Jazz listed Sexton as doubtful prior to this update. This will be the third game in a row on the shelf for Sexton, and he should be considered questionable for the season finale Sunday against the Warriors.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Considered doubtful for Friday
Sexton (illness) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Clippers, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Sexton has missed the last two games due to his illness, and although it's somewhat encouraging to see him listed as doubtful rather than being immediately ruled out, it seems likely that he'll be sidelined once again Friday. Assuming he sits against the Clippers, his final chance to suit up during the regular season will be Sunday against the Warriors.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Out again Thursday
Sexton (illness) won't play in Thursday's game against the Rockets, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Sexton will miss a second consecutive game due to illness, which should allow for Johnny Juzang to remain in the starting lineup while Talen Horton-Tucker and Jason Preston are candidates to see more work off the bench. Sexton's next chance to play will come Friday against the Clippers for Utah's penultimate game.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Ruled out for Tuesday
Sexton (illness) won't play Tuesday against the Nuggets, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports. The writing was on the wall for Sexton to miss his first game of the season after he was downgraded to questionable earlier in the day. With Sexton out, players like Talen Horton-Tucker, Jason Preston and Kira Lewis could have more opportunities out of the Utah backcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Downgraded to questionable
Sexton has been downgraded to questionable ahead of Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to an illness, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Sexton is riding a productive stretch, averaging 20.4 points per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field over his last eight starts, but it wouldn't be shocking if he ends up being ruled out since the Jazz are already out of playoff contention. It sounds as if Sexton will be a true game-time call before Tuesday's 9 p.m. ET tipoff.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Posts 15 points in loss
Sexton notched 15 points (5-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 27 minutes during Sunday's 118-110 loss to Golden State. Sexton shot only 33 percent from the floor but managed to pad his fantasy total with seven assists. Sexton won't become an unrestricted free agent until 2026, but he represents over 12 percent of Utah's league cap, making him a very expensive addition to the 2024-25 roster.... See More ... Jazz's Collin Sexton: Scores 29 in loss to Houston
Sexton finished with 29 points (10-21 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 44 minutes during Friday's 101-100 loss to the Rockets. Sexton deserves praise for the consistency and productivity he's shown in recent weeks. He has scored at least 20 points in 10 consecutive appearances (six starts) and is averaging 22.7 points, 6.3 assists and 3.4 boards per game in that span.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Misses out on double-double
Sexton logged 26 points (11-20 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 118-111 loss to San Antonio. Sexton's 26 points marked his highest-scoring output since March 4 during Wednesday's loss. The 24-year-old guard also tallied a team-high nine assists. Sexton has displayed impressive efficiency across his 13 appearances in March, posting 52.8/41.9/88.9 shooting splits.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Scores 20, hands out eight dimes
Sexton totaled 20 points (7-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound, eight assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Saturday's 147-119 loss to the Rockets. Sexton returned to the starting lineup after coming off the bench in four straight contests, but he continues to deliver regardless of whether he plays as a starter or off the bench. He's now scored at least 20 points in seven consecutive outings, a span in which he's averaged 21.7 points per contest while shooting an impressive 55.7 percent from the field.... See More ... Jazz's Collin Sexton: Pours in 20 points off bench
Sexton logged 20 points (9-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and five assists across 34 minutes during Thursday's 113-97 loss to the Mavericks. Sexton worked as a reserve for the fourth straight game but still logged the second-most minutes on the team behind Lauri Markkanen. Sexton finished with his sixth straight contest of 20-plus points, and he's hit that mark in 11 of 16 contests since the All-Star break. He has been picking up his assist numbers as well, averaging 5.8 dimes per game since the break as opposed to 4.5 prior to the All-Star Game.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Leads team with 25 in loss
Sexton accumulated 25 points (12-19 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 119-107 loss to Oklahoma City. Playing his third straight game as part of the second unit, Sexton led the Jazz in scoring while producing 20-plus for the seventh time in the last eight contests. He didn't get much help, as only two other Utah players scored in double digits. Over that eight-game stretch, Sexton has averaged 22.8 points, 6.0 assists, 3.4 boards, 2.5 threes and 1.0 steals while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent (20-for-44) from beyond the arc, and the shift to the bench hasn't impacted his usage or efficiency. However, once Jordan Clarkson (groin) gets healthy, Sexton could move back into the starting five.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Top scorer off bench in defeat
Sexton ended Monday's 114-104 loss to the Timberwolves with 24 points (9-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound and two assists in 37 minutes. Sexton led all players in Monday's contest in threes made while leading Utah in scoring and posting a team-high minute total to boost the team offensively in a losing effort. Sexton has tallied 25 or more points in 13 games this season, his first such performance while coming off the bench. He matched a season high in threes made, also doing so March 6 against Chicago.... Jazz's Collin Sexton: Shines off bench with double-double
Sexton finished Saturday's 119-100 loss to Minnesota with 22 points (9-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, 10 assists and one steal over 31 minutes. Sexton came off the bench for the first time since Dec. 11, leading all players in Saturday's contest in assists while pacing the Jazz in scoring and shots made during a 20-point, 10-assist showcase. Sexton has handed out 10 or more assists in four games this season, but this was the first time as a reserve. In those four contests, he added 20 or more points three times.... See More ... Jazz's Collin Sexton: Not starting Saturday
Sexton is not in the starting lineup to face the Timberwolves on Saturday, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Sexton will move to the bench for the first time since Dec. 11, as the coaching staff will play Keyonte George and Kris Dunn together in the backcourt. Sexton is averaging 12.7 points, 3.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game when coming off the bench this season.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Pops for 21 in Friday's win
Sexton closed Friday's 124-122 win over the Hawks with 21 points (9-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds, six assists and two steals in 31 minutes. The 25-year-old guard continues to roll. Sexton has scored in double digits in 18 straight games dating back to Jan. 30, and over 10 contests since the All-Star break he's averaging 20.3 points, 5.6 assists, 2.8 boards, 2.2 threes and 1.6 steals. With rookie Keyonte George seizing the starting point guard job, Sexton is settling into the two-guard role that's a better fit for his skills.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Puts up 24 points Wednesday
Sexton closed with 24 points (7-17 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds and seven assists across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 119-117 loss to the Bulls. Sexton reached the 20-point plateau for the third time across his last five games, and he continues to deliver instant offense for the Jazz every time he steps on the hardwood. He's finally settled in a starting role and is having a strong season both as a scorer and playmaker. Through his last 10 appearances, Sexton is averaging 22.0 points, 5.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's Collin Sexton: Hits for 29 in win over Washington
Sexton accumulated 29 points (11-19 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 34 minutes during Monday's 127-115 victory over the Wizards. The shorthanded Jazz got little production from anyone except Sexton, Jordan Clarkson and John Collins -- no other member of the team scored more than 10 points -- but it was enough. Sexton has scored in double digits in 14 straight games, a stretch in which the 25-year-old guard is averaging 20.9 points, 5.6 assists, 2.1 boards, 2.1 threes and 1.1 steals while shooting 50.3 percent from the floor and 47.6 percent from beyond the arc.... Jazz's Collin Sexton: Hits for 22 in Tuesday's loss
Sexton ended with 22 points (8-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), one rebound, three assists and six steals over 29 minutes during Tuesday's 124-97 loss to the Hawks. The 25-year-old guard led Utah in scoring on the night as he provided at least 14 points for the 11th straight game. Sexton is averaging 20.5 points, 5.7 assists, 2.1 boards, 2.1 threes and 1.1 steals over that stretch while shooting 46.0 percent from long distance, and while the Jazz have committed to a youth movement coming out of the All-Star break with both Keyonte George and Taylor Hendricks in the starting five, Sexton's usage appears to be secure....
