Brown (knee) is available for Tuesday's game against the Thunder, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Brown has been on the Celtics' injury report as of late due to a right knee injury, but it won't prevent him from playing in Wednesday's contest. The reigning NBA Finals MVP has averaged 25.3 points on 46.5 percent shooting, 6.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.5 steals over 36.0 minutes per game since the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less

Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Probable for Wednesday
Brown (knee) has been listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Brown is managing a right knee issue but is trending toward being on the floor Wednesday for a highly anticipated matchup against Oklahoma City. The 28-year-old is averaging 23.3 points and 6.1 rebounds and career highs in assists (4.8) and steals (1.3), shooting 46.1 percent from the floor and a career-low 32.1 percent from deep.... Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Fills stat sheet in win Monday
Brown had 26 points (8-20 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 10-11 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals over 38 minutes during Monday's 114-108 victory over the Jazz. Brown was tasked with leading the Celtics on offense due to the absence of Jayson Tatum (knee), and although Sam Hauser ended up exploding for a career-high 33 points, there's no question Brown posted an outstanding stat line as well. He finished just two boards and three assists away from recording a triple-double, although he would've had even better numbers had he been efficient from three-point range. Brown is averaging 25.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game since the end of the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Hits for 31 points in victory
Brown racked up 31 points (13-25 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three steals in 42 minutes during Saturday's 111-101 victory over the Lakers. Brown returned after a one-game absence and completed a well-rounded performance against the Lakers. Brown seems to add an extra gear when he plays the Lakers, as his historical data against the team is excellent. Brown and Jayson Tatum combined for 71 points, comprising 63.9 percent off the team's production. Brown's knee injury has resulted in absences during back-to-back sets, but the team won't see another one of those until next weekend.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Good to go against LAL
Brown (knee) isn't on the injury report for Saturday's game versus the Lakers, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Brown will return to action Saturday after missing Boston's previous contest due to a right knee posterior impingement. Brown is averaging 21.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.3 minutes across his last 10 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Won't play Thursday
Brown will not play Thursday against the 76ers due to a right knee posterior impingement, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Thursday's game is the second leg of a back-to-back set, and Brown logged 40 minutes against Portland on Wednesday night despite battling an illness. Therefore, it's not a surprise to see the Celtics exercise caution. Guys like Payton Pritchard and Jordan Walsh could be more involved Thursday, and the same is true for Sam Hauser if he can shake off his questionable tag due to an ankle sprain.... See More ... Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Will play Wednesday
Brown (illness) is available for Wednesday's game against Portland, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Brown will play through an illness Wednesday, and he should see a significant increase in usage due to the absences of Jayson Tatum (shoulder) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness). Over his past five games, Brown has averaged 25.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 33.5 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Under the weather
Brown (illness) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Teammate Kristaps Porzingis has missed three of the Celtics' last four games due to a non-COVID illness, and it appears Brown is working through the same issue. Boston is dealing with a number of injuries to the top of its rotation including Brown, Jayson Tatum (shoulder), Derrick White (back), Payton Pritchard (hip) and Jrue Holiday (finger). These injuries open the door for Sam Hauser, Baylor Scheierman, Jordan Walsh and Torrey Craig to see more minutes, so tracking the Celtics' injury report heading into Wednesday's game is imperative.... Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Balanced performance as top scorer
Brown racked up 22 points (6-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals over 37 minutes during Sunday's 110-103 victory over Denver. Brown once again led the way for Boston in Sunday's contest, leading all players in scoring and assists while also recording a team-best pair of steals in a balanced performance. Brown has handed out eight or more dimes in six contests, adding at least 20 points in three of those outings.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Gets green light Sunday
Head coach Joe Mazzulla said that Brown (knee) will play in Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports. Brown has missed three of the club's last seven outings due to a left thigh contusion and right knee soreness, though he'll shake off a questionable tag Sunday due to right knee pain. Over his last five outings, the star swingman has averaged 23.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.6 minutes per contest. Brown played 34 minutes during Friday's loss to Cleveland, and there is no indication that he will operate under a minutes restriction Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Iffy against Denver
Brown is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Nuggets due to right knee pain, Jay King of The Athletic reports. Brown has already missed three of Boston's last seven outings and could now miss Sunday's contest due to right knee pain. If Brown is ultimately downgraded to out, Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, Baylor Scheierman and Jordan Walsh could all receive increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Explodes for 37 points Friday
Brown supplied 37 points (13-24 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-10 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes during Friday's 123-116 loss to Cleveland. Brown returned from a one-game absence due to a thigh problem and did it in style after notching his second-best scoring output of the campaign in a game that could very well be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals later in the year. Brown has scored at least 20 points in every game since the All-Star break and continues to play at a high level for the Celtics as the team's second-best offensive weapon behind Jayson Tatum, who had 46 points Friday. Brown is averaging 26.3 points per game since the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Good to go Friday
Brown (thigh) is available for Friday's game against Cleveland, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Brown will shake off a questionable tag due to the left thigh contusion that forced him to miss Wednesday's loss to Detroit. The 28-year-old swingman has averaged 22.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.6 three-pointers across 34.1 minutes per game in his last 10 appearances. Brown has shot 51.8 percent from the field in that 10-game span.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Active for shootaround Friday
Brown (thigh), who is questionable for Friday's game against Cleveland, participated in shootaround Friday, Celtics beat reporter Bobby Krivitsky reports. Brown missed Wednesday's loss to Detroit due to the thigh injury, though his participation in shootaround bodes well for his status Friday. Sam Hauser and Al Horford are candidates to draw the start if Brown is sidelined. Over his last five outings, the 28-year-old swingman has averaged 21.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 32.4 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Questionable for Friday
Brown (thigh) is questionable to play in Friday's matchup with Cleveland, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports. Brown missed Wednesday's game against Detroit due to a thigh injury and is in danger of missing a second consecutive game if he is ruled out for Friday. Sam Hauser would likely start in Brown's place if he is unable to go, with Al Horford likely getting extended playing time as well.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Appears to tweak leg Tuesday
Brown finished Tuesday's 111-101 win over the Raptors with 24 points (10-18 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal over 33 minutes. Brown led both teams in scoring Tuesday and did most of his damage in the second quarter with 11 points, though it appeared he may have tweaked his leg late in the frame, per Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe. Brown was limited to just 12:36 of playing time in the second half, and his injury status will be worth closely monitoring as the Celtics play the second leg of their back-to-back set Wednesday against the Pistons. If Brown is unable to play, expect a larger workload for Derrick White, Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser and even Baylor Scheierman and JD Davison.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Comes alive in second half
Brown racked up 24 points (10-21 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Sunday's 118-105 victory over the Knicks. Brown was limited to just six points through the first half of Sunday's game. He turned things around in the second half, with 11 of his points coming in the fourth quarter to extend the Celtics' lead back up to double digits. Brown has been a steady scoring presence for the Celtics all season, and since the beginning of January he has averaged 20.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals over 34.9 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Plays in All-Star Game
Brown (knee) scored four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with two rebounds across seven minutes for Team Shaq in Sunday's 41-25 win over Team Chuck in the All-Star Game. Brown missed two straight games due to right knee soreness prior to All-Star Weekend, but his availability Sunday bodes well for his status going forward. Brown should be ready to roll for Thursday's game against the 76ers, resulting in fewer minutes for Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Ruled out against San Antonio
Brown (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Spurs, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Brown will miss a second straight game due to right knee soreness. Boston's decision to hold out the forward is likely a precautionary measure, considering he'll have the NBA All-Star break to get some much-needed rest before the team's next game Feb. 20 in Philadelphia. Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard should get bumps in playing time Wednesday due to Brown's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Iffy for Wednesday
Brown (knee) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Spurs, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Brown continues to deal with right knee swelling, jeopardizing his status against San Antonio. Considering Wednesday is Boston's final contest ahead of the All-Star break, it wouldn't be shocking for the club to exercise caution with the star forward. While Sam Hauser would get a boost in streaming appeal if Brown sits out, Payton Pritchard would also be set for an expanded role off the bench.... See More ... See Less
