Porzingis finished with 20 points (5-14 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 10-14 FT), 10 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 109-100 victory over Orlando in Game 2 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Despite suffering a gash on his forehead that required stitches during the game, Porzingis made a considerable impact on both ends of the floor. The veteran big man stepped up while Jayson Tatum (wrist) is the mend, as the former lived at the free-throw line. The veteran scorer hit 10 of a game-high 14 attempts from the charity stripe, which gave the defending NBA champions a big boost, resulting in the team taking a commanding 2-0 lead ahead of the series shifting to Orlando for the next two games.... Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Four swipes in Game 1 win
Porzingis ended Sunday's 103-86 win over Orlando in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with five points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and four steals over 26 minutes. Porzingis had a rough shooting night in Game 1 against Orlando, going 1-for-8 from the field. However, the veteran scorer was able to impact the game in other areas, as he recorded a game-high four steals to go along with six rebounds. Fortunately for Boston, the Celtics were able to secure a 17-point win to take a 1-0 series lead despite Porzingis' lack of production offensively.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Officially set to play Sunday
Porzingis (rest) isn't on the injury report for Sunday's Game 1 against the Magic, John Karalis of BostonSportsJournal.com reports. As expected, Porzingis will return to action for the playoffs after sitting out Boston's regular-season finale. The star big man should reclaim his starting spot from Luke Kornet against Orlando.... Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Expected to play Game 1
Porzingis (rest) is expected to play in the postseason. With the No. 2 seed locked up, Porzingis missed the regular-season finale for rest purposes. The big man's 42 regular-season appearances were a career-low mark, and he averaged fewer than 20 points per game for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Not playing Sunday
Porzingis (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Hornets, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports. Porzingis and the rest of the Celtics' top players will be sidelined for Sunday's regular-season finale as Boston looks to embark on yet another deep postseason run. Porzingis missed the first 17 games of the season while recovering from offseason surgery on his left foot and ankle area, and he missed additional time due to a viral infection in mid-March. The 2015 first-round pick will finish his second regular season in Boston, averaging 19.6 points on 48.3 percent shooting (including a career-best 41.2 percent from three on 6.0 3PA/G), 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 blocks in 28.8 minutes per game across 42 starts.... Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Not on injury report
Porzingis (rest) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game versus the Hornets, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Porzingis will return to action Friday after sitting out Boston's previous contest for rest purposes. Since the Celtics are already locked into the second seed in the Eastern Conference, it wouldn't be surprising for their starters to play less than their normal workloads.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Won't play Wednesday
Porzingis (rest) will not play Wednesday against Orlando, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Derrick White (ankle), Jayson Tatum (ankle), Al Horford (knee) and Jrue Holiday (shoulder) are all being held out as well, while Jaylen Brown (knee) is questionable for the second leg of this back-to-back set. During Tuesday's 119-117 overtime victory over New York, Porzingis finished with 34 points (11-19 FG, 8-13 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes.... Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Ties season high with 34 points
Porzingis supplied a team-high 34 points (11-19 FG, 8-13 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 119-117 overtime victory over New York. After missing two of the prior four games while fighting off the effects of an illness, Porzingis looked 100 percent healthy as he matched his season highs in points and made threes -- he hit both numbers against the Bulls on Jan. 29. The 29-year-old center has had his usual trouble staying in the lineup this season, and in 12 appearances since the All-Star break he's averaging 20.3 points, 6.3 boards, 2.6 threes, 2.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.8 steals.... The star big man has averaged 18.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.2 three-pointers and 1.4 blocks across 28.4 minutes per game in his last five outings. He has shot 47.7 percent from the field and 47.8 percent from beyond the arc in that five-game span.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Won't play Sunday
Porzingis (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Wizards. Porzingis was a late addition to the injury report and will miss his second outing in April due to a non-COVID illness. HIs next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Knicks. Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta are candidates for a bump in minutes due to Porzingis being sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Cleared to play vs. Washington
Porzingis (nose) has been cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Wizards. Porzingis took an elbow to the face during Friday's game against the Suns, which resulted in him missing the rest of the game. However, he'll be ready to return to the floor on Sunday against the Wizards. The veteran big man is averaging 19.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 48.5 percent from the floor and a career-high 40.4 percent from beyond the arc.... Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Leaves early with nasal injury
Porzingis didn't return to Friday's 123-103 win over the Suns after suffering a nasal laceration in the fourth quarter. Porzingis exited to the locker room with 11:32 remaining in the final quarter and required stitches after taking an elbow to the nose from an opposing player. He finished with 15 points (5-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one block in 23 minutes. The Celtics labeled the center as questionable to return after he returned to the bench after getting stitched back up, but he didn't check back into the game while the Celtics held a comfortable lead. He'll have another day to heal up before Boston returns to action Sunday against Washington.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Iffy to return Friday
Porzingis received stitches after suffering a nasal laceration during Friday's game against the Suns and is considered questionable to return, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. With just a few minutes remaining in the game and the Celtics holding down a comfortable lead, Porzingis' night is most likely over. He produced 15 points (5-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one block in 23 minutes before checking out of the contest with 11:32 remaining in the fourth quarter after taking a blow to the face.... Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Makes locker-room visit
Porzingis headed to the locker room after sustaining an apparent facial injury in the fourth quarter of Friday's game against the Suns, Marc D'Amico of the Celtics' official site reports. Porzingis caught an elbow to the face from an opposing player and left for the locker room with 11:32 remaining in the final quarter. He'll likely be evaluated for a concussion as well as any structural damage to his face before the Celtics determine whether he's able to return.... See More ... See Less -

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Sitting Wednesday
Porzingis has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Heat due to return-from-illness reconditioning, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports. Porzingis played in seven of the Celtics' last eight games after returning from an extended absence due to a viral infection, and he averaged 21.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 blocks in 29.3 minutes per contest over that span. He'll take a seat Wednesday as he continues to work on his conditioning, but he should be available to play against the Suns on Friday. With Porzingis and Al Horford (toe) both out, Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta should see the bulk of the big man minutes against Miami. However, Xavier Tillman could see some time in the rotation after starting Monday against the Grizzlies.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Questionable for Wednesday
Porzingis is questionable for Wednesday's game against Miami due to return-from-illness reconditioning, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. The superstar big man recently faced an extended absence with a viral illness, and the Celtics continue to monitor his workload ahead of the playoffs. Al Horford (toe) is doubtful to play Wednesday, therefore Luke Kornet (illness), who is set to return against the Heat, could be needed to make a spot start down low if Boston holds Porzingis out.... Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Scores 19 in win
Porzingis totaled 19 points (7-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds and five assists in Monday's 117-103 win over the Grizzlies. Porzingis was productive Monday, knocking down three three-pointers to help lead the Celtics to a double-digit victory. The one-time All-Star missed eight straight games from the end of February to the middle of March due to a lingering illness, but he has found his groove since returning. Playing in seven of the team's last eight contests, Porzingis is averaging 21.1 points and 7.7 rebounds on 54.6 percent shooting.... See More ... See Less -
