Walker is out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Diamondbacks. Walker has now started just four of the Cardinals' last eight contests while he's produced a .164/.238/.273 slash line to begin the season. Lars Nootbaar will slide over to right field Monday while Alec Burleson receives a start in left as Walker retreats to the bench.... See More ... See Less

Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Another day off Wednesday
Walker is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Oakland. Walker has now been on the bench for two of the last four games, and in the two contests he's started he's been down in the eighth spot in the lineup both times. The 21-year-old had an RBI in both of the first two games of the series, but he's managed just a .556 OPS so far in his first 16 contests this season. Lars Nootbaar will slide over to right field and Brendan Donovan will be in left field in Wednesday's series finale.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Gets Sunday break
Walker is not included in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup against the Diamondbacks, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Walker has started 13 of the Cardinals 15 games this year but will get a rest day Sunday. The outfielder is sporting a .182 average through 49 plate appearances, which is a lot lower than his .276 mark last season, but he still has plenty of time to get his bat going this year.... Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Taking seat Tuesday
Walker is absent from the lineup in Tuesday's game against the Phillies. Walker has just a .536 OPS in his first 10 games this season, so it's probably not a bad time to get him a breather with the Phillies sending Zack Wheeler to the hill. Alec Burleson is in right field.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Not in Saturday's lineup
Walker isn't starting Saturday against the Dodgers, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Walker is 1-for-7 with three strikeouts through the first two games of the season, so he'll get a day off to regroup. Alec Burleson will take Walker's place in right field Saturday and bat seventh.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Showing strikeout trouble
Walker has gone 2-for-13 with seven strikeouts and a walk over his first five Grapefruit League games. Walker's seven strikeouts lead all Cardinals hitters this spring. The 21-year-old didn't have a terrible time with whiffs as a rookie last year, posting a middle-of-the-road 22.4 percent strikeout rate with a decent 8.1 percent walk rate. He hit .276 with a .787 OPS, 16 home runs, 51 RBI, 51 runs scored and seven stolen bases over 117 contests. Walker's still got untapped power potential, though he's likely to begin 2024 batting in the middle of the order as opposed to the top third.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Goes yard in win
Walker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Phillies. Walker's only hit of the day was a massive one, as he took Seranthony Dominguez deep to left in the eighth to put the Cardinals up 6-5, which was enough for the win. Walker now has four of his 16 home runs this month and has continued his solid run at the plate since the end of August. Over his last 17 games, the 21-year-old rookie is slashing .365/.408/.651 with five homers, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored and a 5:12 BB:K.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Homer binge continues
Walker went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 10-6 win over Atlanta. The rookie tagged Collin McHugh for a solo shot in the fourth inning, giving Walker homers in three straight games and four of his last five as part of a seven-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old has rebounded from an inconsistent start to his big-league career and now sports a .306/.378/.571 slash line since the beginning of August, a stretch in which he's racked up six home runs, 14 runs and 16 RBI.... Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Keeps power up Sunday
Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Pirates. Walker extended his hitting streak to six games, a span in which he's gone 12-for-21 (.571) with three homers and seven RBI. The rookie seems to be finding a groove late in the year while retaining a near-everyday role in right field. He's at a .274/.341/.453 slash line with 14 homers, 42 RBI, 37 runs scored and six stolen bases through 93 contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Remains hot Saturday
Walker went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in a loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday. Walker came up with a clutch blast for the Cardinals in the seventh inning, swatting a two-run homer that turned a one-run deficit into a one-run lead. He drew a hit-by-pitch in the ninth to get on base as the potential game-winning run, but St. Louis was unable to bring him home. Walker has been swinging a hot stick of late, collecting multiple hits three times during his current five-game hit streak. He's batting .588 (10-for-17) with two homers and six RBI over that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Four hits, homer in win
Walker went 4-for-4 with a double and a three-run home run in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over San Diego. Walker got St. Louis on the board in the fourth inning, tying the game 3-3 with a three-run, 431-foot shot off Rich Hill. The rookie outfielder would log three more hits in the contest, winding up a triple shy of a cycle. Following an 0-for-8 stretch, Walker's now gone 7-for-10 with four RBI over his last three games. Overall, he's batting .267 with 12 homers, 39 RBI, 34 runs scored and a .766 OPS through 352 plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Sitting Saturday
Walker isn't in the Cardinals' lineup Saturday against the Phillies, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Walker will get a breather Saturday after going 4-for-18 with an RBI and two runs scored across his last five games. Alec Burleson will take over in right field and bat second while Walker rests.... Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Sitting Saturday
Walker isn't in the Cardinals' lineup Saturday against the Mets, John Denton of MLB.com reports. After going 0-for-6 across the first two games of St. Louis' series with the Mets, Walker will get a breather Saturday. Alec Burleson will take over in right field, moving Willson Contreras into the DH slot and Andrew Knizner in behind the plate.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Takes seat Thursday
Walker is absent from the lineup Thursday versus the Rays. Tyler O'Neill, Lars Nootbaar and Alec Burleson are starting across the outfield as the Cardinals wrap up a three-game series at Tropicana Field. Walker will grab some rest after going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Wednesday's 6-4 win.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Up to No. 3 spot
Walker is now batting third Thursday against the Twins. Walker was originally slated to bat cleanup for the first time as a major-leaguer, but he'll move even higher in the Cardinals' batting order after Nolan Gorman (foot) had to be scratched. Walker slugged his 10th big-leaguer homer in Wednesday's win over Minnesota as part of a two-hit day.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Jumps to cleanup spot
Walker is batting cleanup Thursday against the Twins. It's the highest lineup spot yet for the power-hitting rookie outfielder, who went 2-for-3 with a homer in Wednesday night's 7-3 win over Minnesota. Walker has registered a .769 OPS (110 OPS+) with 10 home runs and five stolen bases through his first 68 major-league games.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Gets Wednesday off
Walker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks. Alec Burleson will replace Walker as the Cardinals' starting right fielder.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Taking Sunday off
Walker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs. Walker will retreat to the bench after he saw his six-game hitting streak come to an end with an 0-for-4, two-strikeout showing in Saturday's 8-6 loss. His move to the bench opens up a spot in the outfield for Dylan Carlson in the series finale.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Notches ninth homer
Walker went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run in a 7-2 win against the Cubs on Thursday. Walker played a big part in a four-run fourth inning for St. Louis, belting a two-run shot to left-center off Cubs starter Marcus Stroman. The rookie is in the midst of a modest five-game hitting streak, going 7-for-21 (.333 average) with three RBI over that span. Walker has proven so far that his bat will play in the majors, slashing .282/.339/.455 with nine homers, 28 RBI and 24 runs while chipping in three steals over 227 plate appearances.... See More ... The rookie outfielder has solidified his spot in the St. Louis lineup since returning from Triple-A at the beginning of June, batting .296 (32-for-108) over his last 30 games with six of his eight home runs on the year and 14 of his 25 RBI....
