Hernandez went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run against San Diego in an extra-innings loss Friday. Hernandez produced LA's final runs of the contest with his two-run blast to right field in the third inning. The long ball increased his RBI total on the campaign to 17, which ranks first in the majors. Hernandez has been a great addition to the Dodgers' offense thus far, supplementing the RBI total with a .290/.343/.581 slash line, five homers, 12 runs and a stolen base.... See More ... See Less

Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Four RBI, steal in defeat
Hernandez went 3-for-5 with four RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 9-7 loss to the Cubs. Hernandez opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-out, two-run single off Kyle Hendricks. He'd drive in two more in the seventh off Julian Merryweather before swiping his first bag of the year. While he won't get the same fanfare as others in the Dodgers' star-studded lineup, Hernandez has gotten off to a fast start this year, going 12-for-40 with four home runs and 14 RBI through his first 10 games.... Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Shows off power once again
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 8-3 win over the Giants. Hernandez broke open what had been a relatively close game with his 431-foot, three-run blast in the sixth inning. It was the fourth long ball in the past four games for the veteran outfielder, who is making a strong impression in his first campaign with the Dodgers. Hernandez ranks third in MLB with nine RBI and should continue to have plenty of run-producing opportunities throughout the campaign given LA's prolific offense.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Belts third long ball
Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two total runs and two total RBI in Sunday's 5-4 win against St. Louis. Hernandez played a key role in sparking the Dodgers' comeback win, putting the team on the board with a run-scoring double in the sixth inning and pulling Los Angeles to within a run with a solo shot in the eighth. The veteran outfielder went 2-for-12 without an RBI over his first three games of the campaign, but he's gone 4-for-12 with three homers and six runs batted in over the past three contests. Hernandez has struggled making contact so far, though, striking out 12 times through 26 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Smacks first two homers
Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in Friday's 6-3 win over the Cardinals. Hernandez cranked his first Dodgers home run off Zack Thompson in the second inning, extending the team's lead to 2-0, before breaking things open with a three-run shot in the fourth. Hernandez has gone 4-for-17 with three extra-base hits through his first four games with Los Angeles. The 31-year-old outfielder slashed .258/.305/.435 with 26 homers and 93 RBI across 625 at-bats for Seattle last season.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Had trouble seeing ball at T-Mobile
Hernandez has admitted to having difficulty picking up the ball while playing at T-Mobile Park in Seattle last season, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. T-Mobile doesn't have the friendliest dimensions, anyway, and it sounds like Hernandez might have been facing some additional disadvantages. The 31-year-old batted .295 with an .830 OPS on the road in 2023 while sporting a lowly .217 average and .643 OPS at home. Now with a more hitter-friendly Dodger Stadium to call home as well as a terrific supporting cast around him, Hernandez appears poised for a nice bounce-back 2024 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Heading to Dodgers
Hernandez signed a one-year, $23.5 million contract with the Dodgers on Sunday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Hernandez spent the 2023 campaign with the Mariners on a one-year deal, and he'll land another one-year contract for 2024. He had multi-year offers from other teams but elected to join a competitor and should be a well-rounded contributor as part of the Dodgers' stellar lineup. The 31-year-old has averaged 24.5 home runs per season across the last six years, and he's slashed .262/.317/.484 during that time.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Goes deep in loss
Hernandez went 2-for-4 with solo homer, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. Hernandez finally found some power with his bat, as Sunday's home run was his first since Sept. 5 and just his sixth extra-base hit this month. He now has six hits and five walks over his last five games and will look to continue swinging a hot bat over the final week of the season. For the year, Hernandez is slashing .264/.313/.449 with 26 home runs, 92 RBI, 69 runs and a 38:199 BB:K in 655 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -

Hernandez went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Athletics. Hernandez logged his first multi-hit effort since Sept. 7, and this was also his first game with multiple walks since July 7. The outfielder is hitting .268 (19-for-71) in September, just a tad better than his .265 mark for the year. He's added a .760 OPS, 25 home runs, 90 RBI, 67 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 150 games.... See More ... See Less -

Hernandez launched a 405-foot solo shot in the second and knocked in additional runs with a third-inning base knock and a fifth-inning sacrifice fly. The 30-year-old slugger has now hit safely in 11 consecutive contests, posting a satisfying 1.234 OPS with two doubles, six home runs, nine runs, a steal, and an incredible 18 RBI across 49 plate appearances during the torrid stretch.... Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Shines on both sides of ball
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the A's. His third-inning blast over the left-field fence off Zach Neal got Seattle on the board, but it was Hernandez's performance on defense that really made the difference. With his team down a run in the top of the seventh, he threw out Esteury Ruiz at the plate after the Oakland speedster tagged up on a fly ball to right field -- setting the stage for a two-run M's rally in the bottom of the frame. Hernandez's 23rd homer of the season extended his hitting streak to nine games, a stretch in which he's batting .395 (15-for-38) with five long balls and 15 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Goes deep twice, drives in six
Hernandez went 2-for-5 with two homers and six RBI in Saturday's blowout victory over the Royals. The 30-year-old slugger took Jordan Lyles deep for a grand slam in the third inning, drove in a run on a fielder's choice in the fourth, and capped it off with a 446-foot solo homer to extend Seattle's lead to 15-2 in the eighth. Hernandez has turned it on in the month of August, batting .356 with five home runs, nine doubles, 16 RBI, 12 runs and a stolen base in 90 at-bats so far this month.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Swipes sixth base Wednesday
Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in an extra-inning loss to the White Sox on Wednesday. Hernandez generated one of two multi-hit efforts for the Mariners -- his sixth in the last nine games overall -- while also recording his sixth steal of the campaign. The veteran slugger's bat is among the hottest in all of baseball since mid-August, as he's sporting a .450 average and 1.202 OPS across his last 44 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Goes deep in win

He's collected multiple hits in four of his last seven games and has gone 25-for-71 (.352) in August. Hernandez is now slashing .255/.301/.434 with 69 RBI and 46 extra-base hits through 124 games.... Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Rips three hits Friday
Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a double in a win over the Astros on Friday. The veteran broke out with his second multi-hit effort in the last four games and fourth overall since Aug. 4. Hernandez has been in prime form during that latter stretch, posting a .367 average, 1.008 OPS, eight extra-base hits and a modest 18.9 percent strikeout rate across 53 plate appearances. The boost in consistent contact has been as striking as any other metric, considering Hernandez went into the sample sporting a 32.0 percent strikeout rate on the season.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Perfect at plate
Hernandez went 5-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Tuesday's victory over the Royals. Hernandez had a field day with the Royals' pitching staff, collecting a hit in all five of his plate appearances, including a two-run home run off starter Jordan Lyles in the fourth frame. The long ball was Hernandez's 18th of the campaign and the outing broke him out of a slump in which he was 3-for-19 (.157) across his previous six games.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Not part of Monday's lineup
Hernandez is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals. Hernandez went just 3-for-18 over the last five games, so he will get a day off for just the second time all month. Dominic Canzone will start in right field Monday, and Mike Ford will serve as Seattle's designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Teoscar Hernandez: Drills 17th homer
Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's extra-inning victory over the Angels. Hernandez doubled in the fourth inning before belting a solo shot in the seventh. It was his first homer since July 20, snapping a 14-game homerless drought; during that stretch, he posted a .517 OPS with 21 strikeouts. Hernandez improved his season slash line to .245/.292/.419 with 39 extra-base hits and 60 RBI through 111 games.... See More ... See Less -

Dominic Canzone has emerged as a threat to Hernandez's playing time in right field, though the latter is hitting well enough lately to stick in the lineup.... See More ... See Less
