  • Nationals' Amed Rosario: On bench Saturday

Rosario is not in Washington's staring lineup against Colorado on Saturday. Rosario will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout while Jose Tena starts at the hot corner and bats seventh against Rockies right-hander Chase Dollander. Rosario is slashing .270/.289/.405 with one stolen base, seven runs scored, one homer and two RBI in 38 plate appearances this season.

  • Nationals' Amed Rosario: Taking seat Monday

Rosario is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates. After CJ Abrams (hip) was placed on the injured list Saturday, Rosario picked up starts at third base in both of the Nationals' ensuing two games, with Paul DeJong shifting over to Abrams' spot at shortstop in both contests. DeJong will remain in the lineup Monday, but he'll be back at third base while Nasim Nunez picks up a start at shortstop. Rosario still likely stands to benefit the most from Abrams' absence, as the Nationals will presumably look to find ways to keep the 29-year-old's bat in the lineup while he's produced an .816 OPS through his first 30 plate appearances of the season.

  • Nationals' Amed Rosario: Getting another start at third

Rosario will start at third base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Marlins. He'll man the hot corner for the second day in a row after going 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 7-6 loss. With Rosario now entering the lineup on consecutive days against right-handed starting pitchers, he appears to be the Nationals' preferred option at third base over Jose Tena, while Paul DeJong shifts over to shortstop in the absence of CJ Abrams (hip).

  • Nationals' Amed Rosario: Starting Saturday

Rosario (knee) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. A knee issue has kept Rosario on the sideline since Wednesday, but he appears to have made a full recovery ahead of Saturday's contest. The 29-year-old has slashed .240/.240/.280 with two RBI this spring while battling for a spot on the Nationals' bench.

  • Nationals' Amed Rosario: Nursing minor knee injury

Rosario was a late scratch from the lineup for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros after his knee "didn't feel right" while taking part in defensive drills prior to the contest, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. Shortly before first pitch, the Nationals pulled Rosario from the lineup in favor of Cayden Wallace, who started at second base and batted eighth. Rosario suggested that the knee injury was minor, noting that he would have been able to play if it was a regular-season game.

  • Nationals' Amed Rosario: Gets one-year deal with Nats

The Nationals signed Rosario to a one-year, $2 million contract Wednesday. All four of the Nationals' projected starting infielders bat left-handed, so the right-handed-hitting Rosario is a nice fit as someone who should play regularly against lefty pitchers. The 29-year-old sports a career .298/.337/.460 batting line versus southpaws and slashed .294/.325/.412 against them in 2024.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Exits 40-man roster

The Reds designated Rosario for assignment Monday. The team needed to make a couple 40-man roster moves in order to activate two players from the 60-day injured list. Rosario is set to be a free agent this offseason, so this will simply allow him to reach the market a few days earlier. He hit .280/.306/.380 with three homers and 13 steals for the Rays, Dodgers and Reds in 2024.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Losing out on regular role

Rosario is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals. After a recent stretch of 10 starts in an 11-game span, Rosario now finds himself on the bench for the second straight day, with both absences coming against right-handed pitchers. Though Rosario looked to be gaining traction as the Reds' primary designated hitter, the team has seemingly pulled the plug on using him as an everyday player while he's managed a lowly .184/.216/.245 slash line since being claimed off waivers from the Dodgers on Aug. 18. The Reds may instead prefer to rotate a number of players at the DH spot rather than giving consistent at-bats to the struggling Rosario.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Absent from lineup

Rosario is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in St. Louis. Rosario had started in the designated-hitter spot in eight of the last nine games, but he will get a day off Wednesday. Noelvi Marte will serve as the Reds' DH in Rosario's stead.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Regular lineup presence

Rosario started at designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 1-0 win over Atlanta. Rosario, who started for the eighth time in the last nine games, is getting plenty of opportunities but doesn't hold much fantasy value. Since joining the Reds in the middle of August, Rosario is batting .205 (9-for-44) with a home run, three RBI and six runs scored. Where may be useful is in steals; the utility infielder has swiped three bags in 16 games for Cincinnati and 13 for the season.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Absent from lineup

Rosario is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets. Rosario has gone 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts over his last four games, and he will sit for Sunday's series finale. Santiago Espinal will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth against Mets right-hander Luis Severino.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Steals bag in win

Rosario started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-3 extra-innings win over Milwaukee. Rosario singled, stole second base and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly as part of the Reds' two-run second inning. The steal was his 12th of the season and second since the Reds claimed him off waivers from the Dodgers on Aug. 18. He had been getting semi-regular work since joining the Reds, but Jake Fraley's return from the injured list Sunday is expected to curb Rosario's opportunities.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Goes yard in loss

Rosario went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Brewers. This was Rosario's first homer with the Reds and just his third of the year across 89 games. He's gone 4-for-21 (.190) with a stolen base over eight contests since the Reds claimed him off waivers from the Dodgers. For the year, Rosario has a .297/.326/.409 slash line, 31 RBI, 11 steals and 26 runs scored over 310 plate appearances, though much of his production came prior to the trade deadline when he was with the Rays.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Not starting Saturday

Rosario is absent from Saturday's lineup against Pittsburgh. Rosario started the Reds' last two games, going 2-for-6 with one run scored. Will Benson will start in right field and bat ninth against Pirates right-hander Jake Woodford.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Makes second straight start

Rosario started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh. Rosario singled, stole a base and scored as part of the Reds' four-run fourth inning. It was the second straight start in right field for Rosario, who was claimed by Cincinnati last week. With Jake Fraley (knee) landing on the injured list Thursday, there could be more opportunities for Rosario.

  • Reds' Amed Rosario: Claimed by Cincinnati

The Reds claimed Rosario off waivers Sunday. The 29-year-old was designated for assignment Monday by the Dodgers to make room on the roster for Mookie Betts' return from the injured list, and Rosario will now make his way to Cincinnati. Rosario has a .305/.331/.415 slash line with two homers and 10 stolen bases in 81 games between Tampa Bay and Los Angeles this season.

  • Dodgers' Amed Rosario: Loses roster spot to Betts

The Dodgers designated Rosario for assignment Monday. Just two weeks after the Dodgers acquired him from the Rays, Rosario's second stint in Los Angeles will come to an end after he appeared in just five games for the club while going 3-for-11 at the plate. With the Dodgers needing to open up room on the active roster for Mookie Betts' (hand) return from the 10-day injured list, Rosario ended up being the casualty. Rosario will have the ability to elect free agency if no other team is willing to claim him off waivers and cover the money remaining on his $1.5 million salary for 2024.

  • Rays' Amed Rosario: Playing time remains uneven

Rosario went 2-for-3 with a run scored Tuesday against the Yankees. Rosario drew a start with lefty Carlos Rodon on the mound for the Yankees, and he remains primarily in a small-side platoon role for the Rays. Since returning from a face injury June 26, Rosario has started six of 11 games while going 7-for-23 with one RBI and one run scored.

  • Rays' Amed Rosario: Returns to lineup

Rosario (face) will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's contest versus the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Rosario will be making his first start since he was hit in the face by a pitch in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Pirates. He's filling in at the keystone for Brandon Lowe (toe), who remains out for a fourth consecutive game.

  • Rays' Amed Rosario: Out of lineup again

Rosario (face) isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Mariners. Rosario will miss a third straight game after being hit by a pitch in the face Sunday against Pittsburgh. It's unclear if he'll be available off the bench. The Rays will wrap up the Mariners' series Wednesday before having a team day off Thursday.
