Freeman (elbow) pitched one-third of an inning in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Freeman entered the game after Arodys Vizcaino got into trouble in the fourth inning, and he was able to escape without further damage. Freeman has been out of action since September of 2020 when he underwent Tommy John surgery. The 34-year-old southpaw is on a minor-league deal with the Royals, so he's likely to see at least some time with Triple-A Omaha now that he's cleared of his surgery recovery.
