O'Neill is out of the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Blue Jays.
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays -- his 16th long ball of the season -- but he will receive a day off Wednesday. Rob Refsnyder will get a start in left field for the Red Sox, who are looking to give O'Neill periodic maintenance after he returned from the injured list earlier this month and also missed three straight games with knee inflammation.
