Joe is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Joe started the last nine games for the Pirates, but after going hitless in Sunday's loss to the Cubs he will head to the bench. Joe has been splitting his work between first base and right field, and Alfonso Rivas and Josh Palacios, respectively, will cover those positions Monday.
