Marlins' Cole Gillespie: Contract selected Friday

Gillespie had his contract selected from Triple-A New Orleans on Friday, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

With Dee Gordon suspended for performance enhancing drugs, the Marlins opted to fill his roster spot with the veteran outfielder, Gillespie. Although Gillespie is now on the active roster, he won't be in the lineup Friday and he does not appear to be in line for an everyday role during his stint with the Marlins.
