Justin Maxwell: Granted release

Maxwell was released so that he could sign with a team in Korea, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Maxwell had signed a minor league contract with Boston during the offseason and hit .219 in 61 games for Triple-A Pawtucket.
