Cardinals' Jordan Walden: Will miss several months with a lat strain

Walden has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 lat strain and is expected to miss a few months, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.

Walden had been projected as a middle reliever, but will join Mitch Harris (arm) on the disabled list to start the season. While Walden had already been placed on the 15-day DL, a transfer to the 60-day list could be on tap if the aforementioned timetable holds true.
