The Athletics optioned Ferguson to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
Ferguson was unscored upon in his first five appearances with the A's but then allowed four runs in his last outing on Sunday to earn a trip back to the minors. Oakland will announce a corresponding move prior to Tuesday's game versus the Rockies.
