Stewart was arrested Thursday in Alabama for carrying a firearm without a permit, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Stewart never panned out as a third-round draft pick with the Jets and ultimately was let go prior to the 2018 season shortly after being reinstated from a PED suspension. He'll probably find it even harder to find a new job if he receives disciplinary punishment from the league.

Stewart's departure from Washington comes just over a week after he signed a futures contract with the team. The second-year receiver didn't see the field once in 2018 after playing in 15 games for the Jets a year ago. He'll look to bounce back and catch on with another team in 2019.

Stewart was released from Oakland's practice squad to make room for fellow wideout Johnny Holton. The 2017 third-round pick showed some flashes in his rookie season with the Jets, during which time he caught six passes for 82 yards and rushed seven times for 27 yards, so it's conceivable that he could find a depth role elsewhere in the league. Stewart has also seen usage as a kick returner, and could latch on somewhere in a special-teams capacity.

ArDarius Stewart: Joins Oakland's practice squad
The Raiders signed Stewart to their practice squad Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Stewart was waived by the Jets earlier this season shortly after serving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drugs policy. The 2017 third-round pick remained with the organization as a member of the practice squad before getting cut on an injury settlement in early October. Now apparently back to full strength, Stewart has found a new home and could get an appointment to Oakland's 53-man roster with Martavis Bryant (knee) expected to miss multiple weeks and Jordy Nelson (knee) nursing a bone bruise that could threaten his availability for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

As speculated last week, Stewart has tested positive for a banned substance and is officially ineligible to play in the first two games of the season. Given the stiff competition taking place within the team's crowded receiving corps, this infraction could put Stewart in jeopardy of losing his roster spot. With that said, the receiver's ability to contribute on kick returns could make him a priority for Jets coaches to keep around.

The 2017 third-round pick allegedly tested positive for a diuretic or masking agent. Stewart, a third-round pick out of Alabama, was active for 15 games but was never able to improve on the two receptions he had in the opening week against Buffalo. With a full season under his belt, there will surely be higher expectations for 2018, but his fantasy prospects will be more dependent on the other wideouts on the depth chart and who will be under center for the Jets.
