  • Kellen Mond: Finds work with New Orleans

The Saints signed Mond on Friday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

Mond was a third-round pick by the Vikings in 2021 and appeared in one game as a rookie, going 2-for-3 for five yards. He was cut prior to the 2022 campaign and spent his second season as a backup in Cleveland. He then joined the Colts' practice squad last October. Mond needs to start putting some good tape together if he's going to stick in the NFL. He'll slide in behind Derek Carr, Nathan Peterman and Jake Haener on the Saints' depth chart.

  • Kellen Mond: Joins Indianapolis' practice squad

The Colts signed Mond to their practice squad Wednesday, JJ Stankevitz of the team's official site reports.

With Anthony Richardson (shoulder) on injured reserve and set to miss at least four games, Mond gives the Colts some added quarterback depth in the meantime. In Richardson's absence, Gardner Minshew is set to handle starting duties, with Sam Ehlinger in line to serve as the team's No. 2 signal-caller.

  • Kellen Mond: Set to sign with Indianapolis

Mond is expected to sign with the Colts' practice squad, pending a physical, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Mond was let go by the Browns in late August, but he now appears to be getting a shot with Indianapolis. The quarterback will operate as an additional depth option behind starter Gardner Minshew while Anthony Richardson (shoulder) is unavailable.

  • Kellen Mond: Returning to waiver wire

Mond is expected to be waived Tuesday, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.

Mond was originally waived by the team Thursday, but after the trade of Joshua Dobbs, they pulled him back off the wire. Now, a few short days later, he was waived again, as the team intends to keep Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the two quarterbacks on the team's 53-man roster. Mond has a good chance to return as the team's practice squad quarterback.

  • Browns' Kellen Mond: Pulled back from waivers

Mond has been pulled back from waivers and is again on the Browns' roster, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Hours after reports that he would be waived, the Browns reversed course due to a trade involving their backup quarterback, Joshua Dobbs. Mond will now be brought back in to back up Deshaun Watson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the team's third-string quarterback. It remains to be seen if Cleveland will carry three quarterbacks into the regular season, but it at least seems as though Mond has solidified himself a spot as a practice-squad option.

  • Browns' Kellen Mond: Let go by Cleveland

Mond was waived by the Browns on Thursday, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

Mond was unable to surpass Joshua Dobbs or Dorian Thompson-Robinson on the depth chart during training camp and the preseason and will ultimately be the odd man out even if Cleveland chooses to keep two backup quarterbacks behind starter Deshaun Watson. The 2021 third-round selection will now work to find another opportunity.

  • Browns' Kellen Mond: Solid in preseason start

Mond completed 13 of 19 passes for 92 yards with one touchdown and one interception and rushed once for two yards during the Browns' 21-16 win over the Jets in Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game.

Mond played the entire first half and threw his touchdown pass on his final play, connecting with John Kelly from three yards out just before halftime to cap off an impressive 17-play, 71-yard drive. The 2021 third-round pick is battling Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who followed him Thursday and was impressive as both a passer and rusher, for the No. 3 quarterback job. Mond's second-quarter interception in his own territory did set up a Jets touchdown, but otherwise, the Texas A & M product put together a respectable performance he'll aim to build on during a home exhibition matchup versus the Commanders a week from Friday.
