Bills' Ed Oliver: Coming off best season
Oliver finished the 2023 regular season with 51 tackle (including 9.5 sacks), three passes defensed and one interception in 16 games.
All of those figures were a career high or tied for a career high for the 2019 first-rounder, while the 9.5 sacks were particularly noteworthy considering he is an interior lineman. Oliver and DaQuan Jones will continue to lead one of the stronger units on the team. The Bills did lose quite a bit of depth in the offseason and will probably draft a defensive lineman this weekend, but no one will enter the fray to meddle with Oliver's projected playing time, plus the Bills need a wide receiver (or two) more than any other position. If your league forces you to have a spot for both defensive ends and tackles, Oliver is one of the league's better IDP choices for the latter slot.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Records first career INT in win
Oliver had two solo tackles, including one sack, and an interception in Sunday's 27-21 win over the Patriots.
Oliver picked off Bailey Zappe on the Patriots' first drive of the game that led to a Bills field goal four plays later. He followed up his first career INT with a sack on Zappe for an eight-yard loss that led to a New England punt on the next play. Oliver has a career-high 9.5 sacks this season -- which is the same amount he accumulated over the previous three seasons combined -- and will look to hit double digits for the first time in his five-year career in Week 18 against the Dolphins.

Bills' Ed Oliver: Makes big plays in win
Oliver recorded four tackles (three solo), including two sacks, in the Bills' 24-22 victory over the Chargers on Saturday.
The defensive tackle raised his sack total on the year to 8.5. Oliver also has 48 total tackles and two passes defensed.

Oliver was forced to miss his first contest of the year in Week 7 versus New England while dealing with a toe injury, but he'll be back out on the field Thursday. The defensive tackle has compiled 24 tackles, including 4.0 sacks, over six games in 2023.

Oliver was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, and it seems his status could be up in the air until Buffalo's inactive list is announced 90 minutes before kickoff. If he can't play in Week 8, Tim Settle would likely be in line for an increased workload again.
