Jaguars' DaVon Hamilton: Set to return for Week 8
The Jaguars activated Hamilton (back) from injured reserve Saturday.
The 2020 third-round pick out of Ohio State will now be in line to make his season debut after being placed on injured reserve at the end of training camp. Hamilton played in all 17 games last season for the Jaguars and registered 56 tackles (27 solo), 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He'll add strength to the team's interior defensive line alongside Roy Robertson-Harris and Adam Gotsis.

Hamilton (back) will be inactive for Thursday's matchup with the Saints.
Hamilton, who has been designated to return from IR, was a full participant at practice all week, but he'll be held out for at least one more contest as he works his way back from a back injury. The Jaguars designated Hamilton for a return Thursday, but it looks like they are going to ease him back into the swing of things. Hamilton (back) will not be taking the trip to London and will miss each of the team's next two games, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Hamilton would have been eligible to be activated from injured reserve before the team's Week 5 matchup with the Bills in London, but he'll remain in Jacksonville to continue training for his return. Hamilton agreed Wednesday with the Jaguars on a three-year, $34.5 million extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Hamilton was entering the final year of his rookie deal after being selected No. 73 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played a career-high 610 defensive snaps last season, appearing in all 17 games. Hamilton has just 4.5 career sacks, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble, but he's a reliable source of snaps on the interior of the defensive line.
