Ole Miss vs. Kentucky: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Ole Miss vs. Kentucky football game
The Ole Miss Rebels and the Kentucky Wildcats will face off in an SEC clash at noon ET Oct. 1 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium at Hollingsworth Field. If the game is anything like the Rebels' 42-41 win from their previous meeting in October of 2020, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Ole Miss beat the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 35-27 last week. The Ole Miss offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the matchup anyway. Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart did work as he passed for two TDs and 154 yards on 24 attempts in addition to picking up 116 yards on the ground. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Dart has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 14-14 at the half for UK and the Northern Illinois Huskies last week, but the Wildcats stepped up in the second half for a 31-23 victory. QB Will Levis and WR Tayvion Robinson were among the main playmakers for UK as the former passed for four TDs and 303 yards on 26 attempts and the latter caught seven passes for two TDs and 147 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Robinson's 69-yard TD reception in the second quarter.
Ole Miss is the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. Their home turf has been no bettor's paradise, though, as they've failed to beat the spread in two of their three home games.
The wins brought both teams up to an identical 4-0. A pair of defensive stats to keep an eye on: Ole Miss enters the contest with only one rushing touchdown allowed, good for fifth best in the nation. As for the Wildcats, they rank fifth in the nation when it comes to passing touchdowns allowed, with only two on the season.
