Kentucky vs. Tennessee updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kentucky vs. Tennessee football game
Kentucky will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the Tennessee Volunteers at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Kentucky started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Missouri. They took a hard 38-21 fall against the Tigers two weeks ago. Kentucky didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game.
Despite the loss, Kentucky got a solid performance out of Ray Davis, who rushed for 128 yards, and also caught a touchdown. Devin Leary also helped with three touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Tennessee unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 34-20 bruising from Alabama. Tennessee got off to an early lead (up 13 with 0:15 left in the first quarter), but sadly they weren't able to maintain that momentum.
Tennessee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Joe Milton III, who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns, and Squirrel White who picked up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.
This is the second loss in a row for Kentucky and nudges their season record down to 5-2. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Tennessee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
In addition to losing their last games, Tennessee and Kentucky failed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, Tennessee is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by four points. They might be worth a quick bet since they've sitting on a three game streak of covering the spread when expected to win.
Kentucky took a serious blow against Tennessee when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 44-6. Will Kentucky have more luck at home instead of on the road?
