Jacksonville State vs. Liberty updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Tuesday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jacksonville State vs. Liberty football game
The Liberty Flames and the Jacksonville State Gamecocks are set to square off in a Conference USA battle at 7:30 p.m. ET on October 10th at Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium. Liberty is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Liberty beat Sam Houston 21-16.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaidon Salter, who threw for 257 yards and a touchdown on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 38 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Daniels, who picked up 157 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville State was not the first on the board last Wednesday, but they got there more often. They enjoyed a cozy 45-30 win over Middle Tennessee. The victory came about thanks to a strong surge in the second quarter to overcome a 24-7 deficit.
Zion Webb had a dynamite game for Jacksonville State, throwing for 186 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Webb was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Sean Brown also helped out with an impressive 103 receiving yards.
Jacksonville State's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Their wins bumped Liberty to 5-0 and Jacksonville State to 5-1.
Looking forward to Tuesday, Liberty is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. They might be worth a quick bet since they're sitting on a four game streak of covering the spread when expected to win.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Tuesday's game as Liberty and Jacksonville State haven't had much trouble getting there this season. The Flames have been frequent visitors to the end zone this season, having averaged 4.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like the Gamecocks struggle in that department as they've been averaging 4 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
