Who's Playing

Maine @ Massachusetts

Current Records: Maine 4-5; Massachusetts 1-8

What to Know

The Massachusetts Minutemen need to shore up a defense that is allowing 45 points per matchup before their contest Saturday. Their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Maine Black Bears at noon ET Nov. 13 at Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium. UMass is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.

The Minutemen came up short against the Rhode Island Rams last week, falling 35-22. Despite the loss, UMass got a solid performance out of RB Ellis Merriweather, who rushed for one TD and 118 yards on 30 carries.

Meanwhile, Maine didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 22-17 to the Stony Brook Seawolves last week.

UMass is expected to lose this next one by 5. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the squad is 2-5 ATS when expected to lose.

With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
