Tennessee's defensive backfield has received a much-needed boost in the form of Shaq Wiggins' commitment for 2017. This will be the third stop for Wiggins, an All-ACC cornerback during his two years with Louisville, and he is on track to be eligible immediately for 2017 as a graduate transfer.

Wiggins started his college career in the SEC East as a promising four-star prospect out of Tyrone, Georgia. He saw action in 12 games during his freshman season with Georgia in 2013, starting eight, but then transferred from the program in the spring of 2014 seeking a better fit.
He found that at Louisville, getting back with Todd Grantham (defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs when he signed) and flourished as one of a several transfers on the Cardinals' defense along with Josh-Harvey Clemons and Devonte Fields.
According to 247Sports, Wiggins chose the Vols over South Carolina and Mississippi State, where Grantham is now the defensive coordinator. He was scheduled to visit Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks soon, but chose to close his transfer recruitment after attending the Orange-White spring game in Knoxville.
With Wiggins' experience and talent, he is a prime candidate to fill in the spot previously occupied by Cameron Sutton, now off to the NFL.
