• Now that CB Kendall Fuller has committed to Virginia Tech, attention shifts to what type of impact he’ll have. Of the ACC’s 68 five-star recruits in the last 12 years, only 11 have made All-ACC in their career. The Daily Press’ David Teel lists them all and looks at Fuller’s chances.
  • Fuller’s signing puts Virginia Tech’s recruiting class in the top 20, nationally according to most services, and the Hokies are fighting North Carolina for the third spot in the ACC recruiting rankings. The Virginian-Pilot’s Andy Bitter puts Fuller in perspective.
  • Most of us would love to have Virginia DT Vincent Croce’s problem. He was losing weight when he wanted to gain it. He dropped 15 pounds in his first year with the Cavaliers and coaches worried he’d wear down or get hurt unless he bulked up. Problem solved: Croce is up to 280 now and talked to VirginiaSports.com’s Jeff White.
  • Clemson C Dalton Freeman is the elder statesman on the Tigers line. Maybe that’s why teammates have nicknamed him “Grandpa.”  You’re only as old as you feel, but Freeman said, “I feel like I’ve been here about 10 years,” when TigerNet’s David Hood spoke to him.
  • DE Malliciah Goodman has 11 1/2-inch hands and wears a XXXXL glove. He looks the part of an NFL prospect, but now he needs to play the part on the field for the Tigers. Travis Sawchik looks at Goodman for the Post and Courier.
