Charlotte vs. Marshall Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Charlotte vs. Marshall football game
The Charlotte 49ers and the Marshall Thundering Herd are set to square off in a Conference USA matchup at 3:30 p.m. ET Nov. 20 at Jerry Richardson Stadium. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
Charlotte came up short against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs last week, falling 42-32. Despite the defeat, the 49ers had strong showings from WR Keith Pearson Jr., who caught six passes for two TDs and 150 yards, and QB Chris Reynolds, who passed for two TDs and 448 yards on 41 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
Marshall came within a touchdown against the UAB Blazers last week, but they wound up with a 21-14 loss. One thing working slightly against the Thundering Herd was the run-of-the-mill game of their most targeted running back, RB Rasheen Ali, who rushed for 41 yards on 16 carries.
Charlotte have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 14.50 point spread they are up against. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the squad is 2-4 ATS when expected to lose.
The losses put Charlotte at 5-5 and Marshall at 6-4. A pair of defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The 49ers are stumbling into the matchup with the 229th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 22 on the season. The Thundering Herd have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 197th worst in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game, with 199 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
