The Nets recalled Clowney from the G League's Long Island Nets, but he won't play in Wednesday's game versus the Magic due to a coach's decision.

  • Nets' Noah Clowney: Gets four minutes Tuesday

Clowney recorded two points (1-1 FG) and one rebound across four minutes in Tuesday's 119-107 loss to thee Mavericks.

After a stint in the G League, Clowney rejoined the Nets ahead of Tuesday's contest while Brooklyn was in need of extra depth at forward with both Cameron Johnson (adductor) and Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) sitting out. Clowney held only a limited role off the bench, so he looks as though he may need the Nets to be without at least one more key frontcourt player before he captures more meaningful minutes.

  • Nets' Noah Clowney: Rejoins parent club

Brooklyn recalled Clowney from the G League's Long Island Nets on Tuesday.

With the Nets losing Cam Johnson (adductor) and Lonnie Walker (hamstring) to injuries in Monday's loss to the Warriors and with Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) already ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks, Clowney could be needed in Brooklyn's frontcourt rotation. Even if he claims a role on the second unit Tuesday, Clowney likely wouldn't be in store for extended minutes.

  • Nets' Noah Clowney: Elevated for Wednesday's game

Clowney is available for Wednesday's game against the Bucks, NBA freelance journalist Billy Reinhardt reports.

The Nets are resting Nic Claxton (ankle), Cameron Johnson (knee) and Spencer Dinwiddie (not injury related) on Wednesday, while Lonnie Walker (hamstring) and Ben Simmons (back) remain out, so Clowney, Dariq Whitehead, Keon Johnson and Armoni Brooks will all be available versus Milwaukee and could crack the rotation. Clowney is listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Raptors with right shoulder soreness.

Clowney has bounced between the G League and NBA squad this season and made his most recent appearance for Brooklyn on Saturday, logging three minutes late in a 112-97 win over Miami. The rookie first-round pick may have sustained the shoulder injury at some point during his brief time on the court during what was his NBA debut. • Nets' Noah Clowney: Quiet in debut

Clowney notched four points (1-9 FG, 1-7 3PT, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and two steals over 19 minutes in Friday's 101-97 Summer League loss to Cleveland.

It wasn't a great debut for the 21st pick in the 2023 Draft, but there's no need to overreact after one game. Clowney taking seven attempts from beyond the arc is certainly interesting, as he shot 28.3 percent during his lone season at Alabama. Clowney is going to be a project early on, but the backup center job behind Nic Claxton is up for grabs and Clowney will get his opportunity to fight for those minutes.
