Who's Playing

New Mexico St. @ Arkansas

Regular Season Records: New Mexico St. 27-6; Arkansas 26-8

What to Know

The #17 Arkansas Razorbacks and the New Mexico St. Aggies are set to clash at 8:40 p.m. ET March 19 at KeyBank Center in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Things were close when Arkansas and the Vermont Catamounts clashed this past Thursday, but the Razorbacks ultimately edged out the opposition 75-71. Among those leading the charge for Arkansas was guard Stanley Umude, who had 21 points along with nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Aggies earned some more postseason success in their matchup this past Thursday. They beat the Connecticut Huskies 70-63. Guard Teddy Allen took over for New Mexico St., finishing with 37 points (a whopping 53% of their total) in addition to six boards. Allen had some trouble finding his footing against the Abilene Christian Wildcats last week, so this was a step in the right direction.

Arkansas is expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten the Hofstra Pride Dec. 18 easily too and instead slipped up with an 89-81. In other words, don't count New Mexico St. out just yet.
