NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Ja'Kobi Gillespie had 26 points in Belmont's 82-68 victory over Southern Illinois on Wednesday night.

Gillespie also added five rebounds for the Bruins (15-11, 8-7 Missouri Valley Conference). Cade Tyson scored 19 points while shooting 7 for 12 (2 for 5 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free throw line, and added seven rebounds. Malik Dia shot 3 for 17 (0 for 6 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with nine points.

The Salukis (16-10, 8-7) were led by Xavier Johnson, who posted 17 points and four assists. Trent Brown added 15 points and two steals for Southern Illinois. In addition, Troy D'Amico had 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Belmont took the lead with 10:09 remaining in the first half and did not relinquish it. Gillespie led his team in scoring with 14 points in the first half to help put them up 37-31 at the break. Tyson scored a team-high 14 points in the second half.
