AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) -Ajax rallied to beat SC Heerenveen 4-1 on Sunday in the Dutch first division with Luis Suarez scoring two goals.
After beating De Graafschaph 8-1 in the first round, Ajax has now scored 12 goals in two games. The previous Eredivisie record of 11 goals at the same stage was held by Ajax, Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar.
Ajax last beat Heerenveen at the Amsterdam Arena in November 2003.
Roy Makaay converted a penalty kick in the 21st minute as Feyenoord routed NAC Breda 5-0. Nuri Sahin scored twice before Ron Vlaar and Jonathan de Guzman each added goals. Breda is yet to secure its first win.
Also Sunday, it was: FC Twente 2, FC Utrecht 2; and FC Groningen 0, De Graafschap 2.
Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse Arnhem have six points from two matches.
Miralem Sulejmani scored Heerenveen's only goal in the 26th before Suarez equalized for Ajax off a corner from Kennedy Bakircioglu in the 44th.
A minute later, Bakircioglu helped give Ajax the lead when his free kick was headed in by Thomas Vermaelen.
Robbert Schilder's first goal for Ajax made it 3-1 in the 52nd before Suarez volleyed past Brian Vandenbussche in the 57th to wrap up the win.
Danko Lazovic scored two goals in PSV's 5-0 win over NEC Nijmegen on Saturday. Eric Addo, Brazilian Fagner and midfielder Otman Bakkal also scored for PSV.
Santi Kolk scored in the 26th minute to help Vitesse Arnhem beat AZ Alkmaar 1-0.
Also Saturday, it was: VVV Venlo 3, Excelsior Rotterdam 1; and Willem II 2, Sparta Rotterdam 2.
Roda JC beat Heracles Almelo 2-1 on Friday.
