INDIANAPOLIS -- This is certainly not a good time to have your name linked to steroids.
Just ask A-Roid.

None of it is fair.
There is no proof he has ever used. None. It's all speculation, yet as he readies for his NFL career, the whispers are there.
Is he a user?
Some of the NFL coaches and personnel people I talked with about Cushing leading up to the combine said they had heard the steroid talk and were interested in hearing what he had to say.
Nobody has proof. And that's what makes it totally unfair to the kid.
If he is using or has used, it will come back on him. If not, then who are these people to spread nasty rumors?
Clean until proven guilty, right?
Cushing denied he steroid use when he met with the media here Saturday afternoon.
"I don't worry about that kind of stuff. That's for people who obviously don't matter to me," Cushing said. "I have to worry about my business. ... [Steroids are] nothing I've been a part of and never will be."
If that's the case, the kid is getting a bad rap. He will be tested here, but that means little. Any user could cycle off knowing the dates of the combine and the upcoming test.
