Feb. 14, 2009 BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Ketty Cornemann and Kristin Rotert each scored 16 points and No. 23 South Dakota State tied a school record with 16 3-pointers to beat UMKC 93-61 Saturday, extending its winning streak to 10 games. The Jackrabbits (24-2, 13-1 Summit League) finished the night 16-for-28 from 3-point range. They had eight 3-pointers in each half. UMKC (11-13, 6-7) led for the last time 11-10 with 14:21 remaining in the first half. But Jill Young had two of her four 3-pointers and eight points in a 22-4 run that led SDSU to a 48-34 halftime lead. Young finished with 14 points. Cornemann and Rotert each had three 3-pointers and Stacie Oistad had two while scoring 12 points. Mariah Davis and Chazny Morris led the Kangaroos with 12 points and Jessica Halsig added 10. |
