Roundup: Heat drop Warriors, match last season's win total

MIAMI -- Dwyane Wade had 32 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Daequan Cook scored 15 of his 20 points to spark a second-quarter comeback, and the Miami Heat matched last season's win total by beating the injury-depleted Golden State Warriors.

 

Udonis Haslem scored 16 points and Shawn Marion finished with a Heat season-high 16 rebounds as Miami reached the 15-win mark in 27 games -- 55 fewer than it needed to get there last season as the NBA's worst team.

C.J. Watson scored 18 points for Golden State, which has lost 16 of 19. Kelenna Azubuike scored 16, Brandan Wright added 12 and Anthony Randolph finished with 10 for the Warriors.

Golden State was without Heat nemesis Jamal Crawford, who's averaged 27.9 points in his last nine appearances against Miami, including a 52-point outing two years ago and a 40-point night earlier this month.

Crawford was ruled out shortly before tip-off with a strained left groin, adding to the Warriors' heap of injury problems.

Stephen Jackson (hand), Monta Ellis (ankle) and Corey Maggette (hamstring) also remain sidelined for Golden State (8-22), off to its worst 30-game start since the 1999-2000 team opened 6-24. Full story

Bobcats 80, Wizards 72

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Emeka Okafor had 29 points and 18 rebounds, and the Charlotte Bobcats pulled away in the fourth quarter for an victory over Washington, sending the reeling Wizards to their worst start in franchise history.

Caron Butler's 31 points weren't enough for the woeful Wizards, who dropped to 4-22, the worst record after 26 games in the team's 48-year history.

Shooting just 32 percent and dominated inside, the Wizards faded late in their seventh straight loss and spoiled coach Ed Tapscott's return to Charlotte, where he was the expansion Bobcats' team president for three years.

Gerald Wallace added 16 points for the Bobcats, who won an ugly game befitting the two worst teams in the Eastern Conference. Charlotte overcame 42 percent shooting and 18 turnovers for its 10th win.

Mavericks 100, Grizzlies 82

DALLAS -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points, Jason Terry added 17, and the Dallas Mavericks stretched their winning streak against the Memphis Grizzlies to 13 games with a victory.

Josh Howard added 14 points, and Erick Dampier contributed 13 points and nine rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won 14 of 18.

Hakim Warrick had 17 points, and Rudy Gay added 16 points and nine rebounds for Memphis.

Kyle Lowry scored 15 points for the Grizzlies, coming off a nine-point home loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night.

Bucks 94, Jazz 86

MILWAUKEE -- Michael Redd scored 27 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to their fifth straight home victory, beating the short-handed Utah Jazz.

Milwaukee also won for the fifth time in its last six games overall and snapped an eight-game losing streak against Utah. The Jazz finished 2-3 on their five-game road trip.

Luke Ridnour had 11 points, 11 assists and six steals for Milwaukee.

Reserve Andrei Kirilenko scored a season-high 22 for Utah. Deron Williams added 17 points, eight assists and eight rebounds, but had seven of Utah's 24 turnovers.
