SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Cincinnati Reds outfielder Wily Mo Pena expects to finish his rehab from a strained left quadriceps muscle Monday.
Pena, currently with the Triple-A Louisville Bats, said his recovery since going on the disabled list May 19 is nearly complete.
"The first game I played I was worried and a little scared to put weight on my leg, but now it feels 100 percent," Pena said Saturday.
Louisville manager Rick Sweet said Pena is playing well "but his timetable is solely up to the Reds."
Pena is batting .385 (5-13) with one home run and four RBI in four games with the Bats.
"I expect to be in Cincinnati Tuesday but right now I have to work on my control at the plate and get ready to play Tuesday," Pena said.
Pena had 26 home runs with the Reds in 2004. He was batting .313 with six home runs and 12 RBI with Cincinnati this year before going on the disabled list.
