James signs with Nationals: SP Chuck James has signed a minor league contract with the Nationals, according to MLB.com. He also received an invitation to Spring Training. James, who missed the 2009 season after having shoulder surgery, last pitched in 2008 for the Braves. He went 2-5 in seven starts with a 9.10 ERA and strikeouts.
