Braves avoid arbitration with Cabrera: Braves outfielder Melky Cabrera has agreed to a $3.1 million, one-year contract with his new team to avoid arbitration. Cabrera, who made $1,425,000 last season with the New York Yankees, was acquired by Atlanta in a five-player deal that sent 15-game winner Javier Vazquez to the World Series champions. Cabrera was the Yankees' starting center fielder most of the last three seasons, hitting .274 with 13 homers and 68 RBI in 2009.

Fantasy Analysis
Cabrera is coming off a career season in the hitter-friendly new Yankee Stadium, so it was a good time to deal him. He hasn't reached his max potential, but it won't be a good idea to expect him to in his first year with the Braves. He might play every day from wire to wire, but we have to slot him out of the top 75 outfielders to target on Draft Day. That means he is a low-end mixed league option at this point.
