Blue Jays complete deal for C Buck: The Toronto Blue Jays have signed veteran catcher John Buck to a $2 million contract for next season, and agreed to a minor league deal with right-hander Lance Broadway that includes an invitation to spring training. The Blue Jays announced the deals Wednesday. The 29-year-old Buck hit .247 with eight homers and 36 RBI in 59 games for the Kansas City Royals last year, although he never developed into the everyday catcher the club had hoped. Buck hit .235 with 70 homers and 259 RBI during his six years with the Royals. Broadway spent last season with the Chicago White Sox and New York Mets organizations. The 26-year-old was 0-1 with a 5.87 ERA in 16 major league appearances.
