TIME: 07:05 P.M. EST VENUE: Fenway Park GAME: Toronto Blue Jays (8-6) at Boston Red Sox (8-5). TIME: Tuesday, 7:05 p.m. EDT. Roy Halladay has made more starts against Boston than any other team. The Red Sox are also one of the teams he's struggled against the most. The 2003 AL Cy Young Award winner will try to slow down the surging Red Sox and get his first win at Fenway Park in nearly two years when the Toronto Blue Jays conclude their two-game series at Boston. Halladay is 5-6 with a 4.74 ERA in 21 career appearances - including 18 starts - against Boston. He's fared worse against only the Texas Rangers - 3-4 with a 6.38 ERA in 12 games, including 11 starts - among teams he's faced more than nine times. The right-hander was 1-2 with a 4.15 ERA in four starts against the Red Sox last year, including 0-1 with a 5.54 ERA in two starts at Fenway. He hasn't won at Fenway since July 17, 2003, when he pitched a nine-hitter in a 5-2 win. Halladay's struggles against the Red Sox have carried into this year, as he allowed five runs and seven hits in six-plus innings of the Blue Jays' 12-5 win April 9. With Toronto leading 5-4, he was pulled after giving up a leadoff single and the Red Sox tied it on a close play at second base while trying for an inning-ending double play. The Blue Jays then scored six runs in the eighth inning to pull out the win. "I left the ball over the plate, but other than that I felt pretty good about it," Halladay said. "Its tough to come back and score runs but we did and got a big win." Halladay has given up just three runs and 14 hits in 16 innings spanning his other two starts - both wins. The Red Sox won the series opener 12-7 on Monday, extending their winning streak to five games. Curt Schilling labored through five innings in a game that started at 11:08 a.m. for the Patriots Day holiday. Schilling ended his stint with his 10th strikeout. He allowed 10 hits, two walks and three earned runs. Manny Ramirez hit two homers over the Green Monster to drive in five runs and lost two balls in the sun for a double and a two-base error. Toronto left fielder Frank Catalanatto also let a ball drop about 10 feet in front of him when he lost it in the sun for a double. "It was the worst thing we've ever played under," Catalanatto said. The Blue Jays, ending a stretch in which they play 12 of their first 15 games on the road, have lost four of six since a four-game winning streak. Former Red Sox third baseman Shea Hillenbrand had four hits and scored a run for Toronto in his first game at Fenway Park since being traded to Arizona in the middle of the 2003 season. "This is great to be back here," he said. "I have some of my favorite memories here, and you're always excited to play in front of these fans, because there's always an electricity in the air." STANDINGS: Blue Jays - 3rd place, ½ GB, AL East. Red Sox - 1st place (tied), AL East. BLUE JAYS PROBABLE STARTER: Halladay (2-0, 3.27 ERA). Halladay's last win against the Red Sox was last May 21 at home, when he allowed an earned run and six hits in seven innings of a 3-1 win. He is 1-3 with a 4.89 ERA in eight career starts at Boston. RED SOX PROBABLE STARTER: Bronson Arroyo (1-0, 5.40 ERA). The right-hander gave up five runs and nine hits in 5 2-3 innings against the Yankees on Thursday, but did not get a decision in Boston's 8-5 win. Arroyo is 2-0 with a 3.81 ERA in four career starts against the Blue Jays. OFFENSIVE LEADERS: Blue Jays - Hillenbrand, .429 avg. and 16 runs; Eric Hinske, 3 HRs and 13 RBIs; Alexis Rios, 1 SBs. Red Sox - Jason Varitek, .333 avg.; Ramirez, 4 HRs and 15 RBIs; Trot Nixon, 11 runs; Johnny Damon, 3 SBs. SEASON SERIES: Tied, 2-2. STREAKS AND NOTES: Blue Jays - Hillenbrand extended his hitting streak to eight games, and he is hitting .485 (16-for-33) during that stretch. ... Also, the fan who spilled beer on Sheffield was prohibited from buying tickets for the rest of the season. The men are not banned from attending games at Fenway Park this year and the club will decide whether House will get his season tickets reinstated for 2006. ...
